this lens is bonkers and was made for under water photography. and using on really light way camera body

yes for that or other use. some say was military but was use for underwater stuff also one only lens at time go from 200-500 F/2.8 all day long. or could get up to over 1000mm if had on crop body and teleconverter. use to have video where someone put this on D500 once 300 to 750. with out teleconverter. but when he add 2.0 teleconverter 400 to 1000. then add 1.5 600 to 1,500 at F/5.6 or some. at one time someone had on for sale around $12,000 if had cash at time would got for F/2.8 all day and would got a tripod for it. i still wants to get this lens for F/2.8 stop and shoot from behind fence in out field.Comment

Pikers. Canon has had a 1200mm f5.6 for decades now. Last time one came up for sale, it was something like $150K.
Pop a Canon 2X teleconverter on it, and you get a 2400mm, I think F8 lens.

RF1200mm F8 L IS USM LensPikers. Canon has had a 1200mm f5.6 for decades now. Last time one came up for sale, it was something like $150K.
Pop a Canon 2X teleconverter on it, and you get a 2400mm, I think F8 lens.
