    Intex Pools

Anyone have on of these soft sided rectangular pools?

What did you put under it for a base?

All I've used before is sand but apparently they advise against that now.

I had a round one. I still used sand as a base (maybe a 1/2”) raked it flat and the tamped it. (I also used a 2x4 to drag it “flat” first and pitch the sand slightly towards the center), then put a tarp over it. Just make sure any rocks (large or small) are removed from the sand, you’ll feel every one of them, and they could tear the lining.

Then I used pavers around the edge to give the supports something solid and level to sit on.

    never had any issues

Way back, I worked installing pools, mostly in ground. But I couldn't remember ever using anything other than sand for the base on an above ground. But we didn't do these rectangle soft sided ones either.
