I remember as a kid seeing an old movie called Hell is for Heroes it starred Steve McQueen alias Harvey Mushman when racing in competitions ( Great Escape , Bullitt ) Bobby Darin ( Beyond the Sea singer ), Fess Parker ( think old time Disney series Davy Crockett ) James Coburn ( made great 60’s spoofs of « James Bond « franchise called « Our Man Flint and In Like Flint ) and Bob Newhart doing his famous one sided telephone conversation skit only this time to fool the Germans who were listening in to find out the American units strength .
That scene is almost all I remember of the movie with the exception of Steve McQueen charging the German pillbox
