Does this seem like a bad idea to anyone else?

So we're expanding at work again (have been for some time) and I just noticed this in the new part of the building the other night. That vent (to the outside) is on the West wall, we get most of our wind and weather from the West. Does this seem like a bad idea or is it just me?

Maybe not my first choice, what is your concern, getting rain in your switch gear? That can be easily accounted for with wind/rain sensors on the vent assembly as well with hoods on the outside.
