This is spot on. Room to move around and do things is significantly more fun than joining a firing line across the entire field.

Yeah but despite it being crowded, I am still gonna go. Its the one time a year that I get to see all of my friends in 1 place. They all live in MD and I live in Tx. Its more like a week long vacation with awesome food, my best friends, and paintball mixed in.

I haven’t seen many paintball athletes. Most of them are fat sob’s that sling paint wildly and get most of their exercise from carrying so many pods.

I didn't say the existing roster of stock class players are top athletes or better than normal players. Most all stock class players also enjoy paintball with hoppers and constant air. Its just the format that is best suited to allow serious play to be taken seriously. If the most renown electro tournament players were playing stock class because it was the premier format, it would be a beautiful sight.

Trying to be highly competitive in a silly sport is a tried and true way to ruin both the fun of it and the game itself.

The last year I played regularly, I only took a Phantom pistol and highly modded PGP with me the whole year. One day both went down so I played with just a barrel. I got a lot of eliminations that day. So I guess I learned that actually shooting the paint wasn't for me.

It's a bit of a joke but also a lot of truth to that. I started off playing with an Automag and carrying a Uniques 8+1 harness. I went from that to stock class when the agglets infested the local field but found out I had the most fun crawling around and sneaking up on people. The actual gun and paint got in the way.

I'm confused are you using the barrel like a blowdart?

I was using the barrel for barrel tags. Some places let you do that instead of asking for surrender but some places don't like you to do that with a loaded marker so the barrel has to be detached. Basically I shanked people all day.

So I had a new one today. After nearly thirty years of playing, I finally got my first real modern electro. After all these years of playing almost exclusively mechanical and pump (with a few games using older style electros), I have to say where the hell has the 180R been all my life? The people who say electros have no “soul” have probably never shot something as refined as this thing is. This marker is forcing me to completely reevaluate my routine load out. I’m in love again.

My CS2 is always in my gear bag when I go to the field.

Highly dependable, user friendly, and shoots great. Even if it really doesn’t see a ton of use it makes things less stressful to know it’s there and ready if I need or want to use it.

I hear you. I know we tend to prefer old school gear here, but I've really come to appreciate the latest tech in this sport. I work with technology every day working in medical IT. It's kind of in my blood. I still enjoy the classics, but I've really come to embrace what's new as well as appreciate where we came from. Sometimes newer really is better.
