    What happened at work today?

I'm a trucker. I drive a propane delivery truck. This happened today

    *looks at Google maps*
    Google maps:"yeah man, it's a 55mph speed limit"
    *Looks at the road*
Road: "brah. Do you see the road patches on top of road patches? I don't even have painted lines and you can't even see a quarter mile because of the curves"
    *Looks at rough road sign*
Rough road sign:"I'm here for a reason brah, and " road" is generous for what that is"
    *Looks back at Google maps*
Google maps:" man, don't listen to the haters, you got this! YOLO!"

    *Tightens seatbelt*

Ok obviously I'm still alive so you draw your own conclusions

    I like this idea.

For once, Europe is more lax and reasonable with their safety data sheets, and a contaminate in a raw material in a formula produced in Europe is making it so we can’t make the same formula in North America because of a rounding error. This will keep me employed for another year.

Some out of state rep sold an expensive piece of equipment in our territory and tried hiding it. Product showed up damaged and all sorts of shit went haywire. Now they owe us 85% of the total profit and surely someone in Chicago is getting fired.

No one tried assassinating a former president from the roof of our building today, so that's nice.

Monday I was fabricating a new exhaust system in the belly of a local tour boat for 4 Detroit diesel engines. Tuesday we built a 20x40 mezzanine in the shop to relocate our plasma cam table to the new shop. The fun stuff…

Lately the Brims and Stones have been stabbing the hell out of each other so I have no idea what I’m walking into at the jail this afternoon. Good news is Only 6 more years left on my 25 year contract of indentured servitude with NYS. Yay….

We have GPS units on our work trucks. They ambiguously seem to care about speed limits, but the company claims they're cracking down on speeding.
"speeding" seems to be anything over 60 MPH, regardless of the posted speed limit....sometimes. Apparently in Montana speed limits are 80 MPH and they're getting hit for speeding over there.
Here in Indiana, the speed limits of county roads without a posted limit is 45, but the system doesn't care as long as we stay under 60.
Yesterday I drove to a nearby town for truck repair and had to take a detour where google maps said the speed limit was 35, but I never saw a sign. So who knows what the truck GPS thinks the speed limit was. Maybe I'll get in trouble, maybe not.

Nice thing about driving a truck is they need you more then you need them.

My dad's friend was almost fired because he was flagged for speeding on every city street that passed over/under the highway. Apparently nobody actually checked the logs.

yesterday I drove 2hrs to do 20mins of work. that has generally been the exception, but will become a weekly occurrence unfortunately

my day to day 4mi commute and hybrid work schedule makes up for it

That's 20% of the service calls I get. The best is when I show up and they say, "Oh, we cancelled that call."

Oh well, I'm paid by the mile.
