They very much still teach film via Hitchcock examples. The movies are still on TV and streaming services. The discs and even the soundtracks still sell. Kids are discovering Hitchcock every single day. No danger.

You don’t have to be 120 years old to know who Charlie Chaplin was. You don’t have to be 70 years old to know Hitchcock. You don’t have to be 60 years old to know The Godfather. You don’t hand to be 50 years old to know Star Wars.

The things people make outlast them and their original audience. “We Will Always Love You” is a real thing.

If you remember vinyl car tops, smokeless ashtrays, pay toilets, government cheese, and those little gold coke spoons people used to have that were made by recasting the McDonalds plastic coffee stir stick with the “M” at the top then you’re obviously old because you’re actually remembering stuff that sucked and died ages ago and nobody experiences anymore at all. I just watched North By Northwest like a week ago.

Hell, when I first saw Alfred Hitchcock Presents it was the 1980s reruns on Nick and Night since I wasn’t even born when it originally aired…and I’m 51.

                VERDICT: Too much Facebook, again.

I had to look that one up

When you hear people say the Coke tastes better at McDonald's, this probably isn't what they had in mind.

What’s interesting there is that while I learned a lot from reading that article and associated links they only discuss the OG plastic McSpoon and the 21st century art piece. They don’t mention that recasts of the McSpoon in gold plated zinc were a thing before the art piece. I found one in a Miata I bought once. I chucked it though, along with the seat covers with fire on them and the stripper flyers the guy had jammed into the window to help it stay up. It was a real hooptie of a Miata. The spoon was not as nice as the “2.0” version. The one I found was more like a bootleg Casio quality of gold.

Oh i know ole alfred hitcock. Psycho, the birds, and even helped inadvertently a young steven speilburg when a mechanical shark wouldn’t work, build up that classic horror anticipation. A man of legend that most today should know, and yes im old at 58.
