After having a prostate exam done much earlier in my life than I had anticipated, I can say that it's not as bad as I expected it to be, but it's also not pleasurable.

Ditto this. I had a lady Urologist do mine. She was reluctant, but my dad died from prostate cancer and I paid my $30 copay, so glove up please. Drove home with Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison stuck in my head.

I hear that, I haven't had to have one....yet. That said my dad was recently diganosed with prostate cancer so my doctor is checking my levels every like 6 months through blood work like a hawk and much as i HATE bloodwork I'm happy to swallow my distaste for the procedure if it means early detection.
