Trying to install a CP mini rail

I’ve gotta be doing something wrong. Right? Brand new CP mini rail just came in and I’m trying to figure out if these are the correct screw? They don’t even make it through all the way. Scratching my head over here.

Need longer socket head hex screws, I THINK. Like this:

I just don’t understand why the included screws aren’t even the right size

I can run to Home Depot and grab some. Do you happen to know the length?

That's strange for sure. I'm almost certain you need the socket head style. I'd guess 10-32x1"

I bet they were supposed to be cap screws and got mixed up when someone was assembling the packaging.

It may just be a blessing in disguise. I matched it up with an old school KAPP on/off ASA but the blue anodizing doesn’t match the rest of the blue on the gun. Wanted to stay with old school period correct parts but I might just roll with one of the newer Inception on/offs and call it a day

They shipped with 10-32 x 3/4" or 1/2" long stainless socket head cap screws, typically.

      Thank you!

The gave you the wrong screws. The older mini rails used those screws. CP parts rarely match any other anodizing. All that being said that mini rail is the newer style and wouldn’t have been period correct anyways. You would want the older style, which are pretty common.

Yeah I realized that after I purchased it lol. Oops. They don’t make the polished blue anymore so I was kinds taking a gamble with it matching. Same with the KAPP asa, it’s a bit darker. I may just ditch the idea of trying to get everything period correct and just roll with an ID asa

Technically, slightly missmatching color parts from different companies WOULD be period correct. Back in the day the only way to get perfectly matching parts was to either stick with just one company (knew a few guys who stuck to just CP accessories, or DYE, etc), or get everything re-anno'ed. But most of the time it was mismatched, but close enough. Not uncommon to see a part or two completely the wrong color either.

Yeah the CP polished blue is very close to the ANS polished blue. The other option was to just find raw or polished parts to match the chrome on the ANS parts. If I was ballsy I’d throw on an old KAPP cradle mount drop forward, but the ergo’s with those is terrible lol
