ID:	68177 while cutting a piece of brass on my chop saw I lost control and split my thumb into two thumbs...
cut right through the middle of my thumb all the way through and split her open like a tape worm...
you could wiggle both halfs opposite of each other...
it was almost a perfect down the center cut over a inch deep, all the way through.
going to be a while before I have use of me left hand again..
    Damn- it sure hurt...
This a going to put a dampener on my projects until it heals...

hurt like hell all night long...

Dam ... I hurt just reading it ...

It's amazing how much useful you find spare fingers once they are out of commission ...
Take care of it/yourself and heal well.

I was about 7-8 years old and my dad did the same thing working on some dairy equipment, nowadays he likes joking with his grand babies about it since the scar formed little butt cheeks. Hope you have a speedy recovery man, keep it clean!

Take it easy there Walz. The paintball community isn't ready for your ultimate form yet. I mean who could defeat a guy capable of holding 2 brass guns in one hand?!?!?

Back in high school woodshop i removed a 1/4" of my right thumb with a band saw. Took about 5 years for me to get the nerves back in that one. Somehow i have only a very small scar to show for it.

If it helps, I caught my thumb in a band saw a month ago today. Its just bout totally healed. But the scar tissue is still pretty tender. Just be ready for getting your stitches out. That hurtmemore than the cut did.

Sorry to hear the news, lo eseeing your creations

Im that way myself typically, but my after the cut I squeezed it to see how bad it was, and it split all the way open, plus I was at work so there was no hiding it. Showed the boss man, andwe were off to the ER. Lol.

                    Best of luck healing.

Noooo! Walz, that is no good. I feel for you, in May this year I cut my left thumb almost completely off (it was dangling). Did the saw remove bone??

Luckily no bone missing , just a narly split to the first joint through center of thumb nail..
It's going to look like a ragged butt when healed..
I need to change bandage this morning and I'm not liking the thought of doing that..

Phew! Well, that's better than it could have been. Rest up, good sir. We can all wait for the next great feat of Walz ingenuity while you heal.

As another member of the "tried to cut my thumb off" club, get better soon, and be more careful. Eventually it will make for a neat scar and story, but otherwise just heal up and keep an eye on that thing. Take care oh patron of the brass.
