Does anyone remember the contest for apocalypse builds? This would make an interesting entry.

Mark made a crossbow that sling shot a paintball Im pretty sure he got an elimination with it as well. I don’t think he got anything crazy for velocity but it shot paintballs.

I hit someone but it didnt break. Velocity too low. Like 120fps from memory. It hangs on the wall as an interesting conversation piece

Ugnh! What level of tomfoolery am I being subjected to now?

First off... As this was posted in the general paintball section, I feel compelled to remind everyone that what is considered "legal" in regard to the rules at any event (stock-class or otherwise) are totally dependent upon what has been established by the event organizer, and NOT by whatever consensus has been derived from an online poll or feedback garnered in an online post. Just saying "I'd allow it!" in an online post does NOT mean any event organizer would allow it. Also, just because one organizer would allow it does not mean all organizers would allow it.

Ok, now that we've got that disclaimer out of the way, I'd like to thank Mark (and everyone else) for asking me directly if this ridiculous fever dream of a contraption will be allowed at my events. Is this thing stock-class compliant? By definition, under the 2.0 rules or by any other stock-class definition, no, it is not considered "stock-class" equipment because it is not powered by a single 12-gram cartridge.

Would I allow this nonsense to be used at my events? Yeah, sure. I've made exceptions for the Airowgun so this doesn't look that different. As mentioned, for my events - as long as the spirit of the game is preserved, and as long as any equipment being used does not create a significant performance advantage, then I would probably allow it. The only consideration/concern that I would have with this involves safety - which ultimately falls under the purview of the field owner. What is the risk of this thing having a catastrophic failure while under pressure? If it's minimal or nonexistent, then fine. If there is a risk, then Aric would need to approve it.

As always, I appreciate any effort to make these events as fun and enjoyable as possible. Stay weird. Gratzie!

I found the video of the paintball shooting cross bow Mark made.

Single shots don't technically meet the strict definition either, but there's no real controversy about using one in a stock game.

This contraption clearly meets the >spirit< of stock class, and I'd let you use it, although I think your tank's hydro certification has expired.
I concur. It's about the spirit of stock class.

If anyone is curious on the operation. This thing is basically a Super soaker/paintball gun hybrid thought up by our very own Mad lad Mark. I was honored to give it a prize winning award at the first annual "Junkclass" event https://youtu.be/YJTAgrQizKE?feature=shared
