My oldest is loving his Christmas present. Vintage Legos inside.

We are doing something different this crazy year and opening one present each day until Christmas. My oldest boy, 6 years old, opened this yesterday. He is stoked and it is so amazing to see his imagination and make believe while he plays. He follows Lego instructions really well and put everything together himself. What we have here are Lego Space Police sets from 1992.

I had this same set, and loved it to pieces. I really thought I would eventually be a pilot back in 92. of course, when you're six those dreams seem less crazy. That's awesome. I like the idea of opening a gift a day.

      This is great.

I vividly remember getting Space Police set back in the day, they were awesome. I had long since dismantled my Blacktron sets but a quickly tried to put them back together so the police had a villain to chase.

OK, hold on, woah woah woah.

I had one or two Space Police Lego sets. I played with some of this stuff back in '92.

Let's just be careful about casually tossing around loaded words like "vintage", shall we?

Most of us are pretty vintage.

Very cool LEGO set. As others have said, lets refrain from using the "vintage" tag just yet

Classic Space Police. Had that exact set, the prisoner transport ship. So cool.

I think I only had a mini space police set. Like one of the $5 ones (today’s price). I had many other series sets from about 92 on though. Man, so many great memories in my legos.

I recently found my long lost box of Lego. This is from the 70's 80's and was VERY surprised to find that the pieces have become quite brittle. Several pieces are broken inside the box and the movement/contraction (I assume) caused the structures to come apart fairly easily. I haven't brought myself to play with them again, yet. One of the best toys ever made IMO.

Sweet, the Rebel Hunter and Solar Snooper! I've got them both & the "flagship" Galactic Mediator 5 feet to my right - lol. Legos were always my favorite toys growing up and really the only toys I have remaining from my childhood. Have a bunch of vintage space and castle sets, was considering selling them off because these days they are worth a crap ton and I don't trust my kids to not break them, lol.

I’m pretty sure I have these set as well! I’m a HUGE Lego fan. My parents still have all my Lego from whenI was a kid. I rebuilt a few on the sets in the last couple years like a space base, the original Black Seas Barracuda and the Caribbean Clipper. My oldest is also 6 and has been really liking Lego. She builds all sort of great like creatures and even built the basilisk from Harry Potter (we’re currently reading it). They imagines are just so great at that age! What a great idea for a Christmas present!

vintage legos?!?!? last year I was back in Baltimore and collected my old Legos from my parents attic - brought them back and gave them to my kids. Completely filled the largest roller carry on bag with them . . . and caused some serious confusion at the airport going through security. I did re-build a few of the vintage kits for fun. the plane is lonely at my job but the truck keeps me company as I WFH

there are lots of PDFs of the instructions for old kits on line . . . can be a real rabbit hole to fall down

I had that same set! It was one of my favorites! I always hoped they'd bring M-tron back.
