Tornadoes are devastating and we get many of them each year. This one is very photogenic.

Yes hopefully none at all!
We had one in the Pittsburgh region a couple of years ago tear a church roof off less than 2 miles from our house. Luckily every tornado in this area of the country can’t really get like those monsters. We had a storm about a month or two ago with 90+mph winds wreak havoc across the area many didn’t have power for 2-7 days. Trees and wind are our problem. The weather in general seems to be getting worse…Comment

I was talking with infamoussmiley after a storm not too long ago in that area. It wrecked a lot of a farm in his family.
I hope you don't get the big ones we get. Some of them are over a mile wide and some wind speeds are hundreds of miles per hour. It's wild seeing loaded freight trains tossed about like child's toys.
The weather sure is peculiar. Greater intensity and frequency. I see it too. -
Yes, that would have been the same storm for us. His family farm is less than 20 miles from us.
Just a little googling shows an F5 hitting northwest PA in 1985. That’s light rolling hill farmland area about 1-2 hours north of Pittsburgh. It is possible for us to get big ones, but that is extremely rare. However we do get a few dozen a year of the smaller variety.
I’m adventurous enough to think a storm chasing tour would be fun, but I can’t say I would want to live in the Midwest… solely because of the storm potential. I would also miss the hills. I still love watching a good storm.
