Half of Canada does speak French, in one shape or form. (We won't discuss northern Ontario Franglish ). It's not just Quebec.

Chris if those comment are caused by the Quebecers found in Florida during winter time, I will need to agree with you for the most part. They are for the most part not the finest we have to offer and we are kind of happy when they leave for the winter.

If you come to Montreal you will see something different, we have two english speeking university and 95% of people working in bars, restaurants and hotels will be at least bilingual. Also, in the west part of Montreal you can find people only speaking english.

If ever you come to Montreal send me a PM and I offer you a beer in a bar on Cescent street. You will feel like any major city in North America. If you go far from the main city that might be different and harder to find people fluent in english but at least all the younger persons have some basic level of english.
