    Backwards hoppers

Why do we always see the backwards hoppers on these ebay/ craigslist listings. I get that people not knowing what they are doing when new, but I feel that people would say something, even back in the day. Not to mention that is very self explanitory, and we kinda figgured it out really early on.

Just a random little rant that I needed to get out.

ive seen a lot of newbies and rental players with hoppers that way on purpose.
its more comfortable for them to load that way in between games since the heavier, tank end gives a sturdier base while mom/dad/fellow teammates refill.

Ive done it when the cap is weak and easy to pop open. Otherwise you put your gun in the air to call out and the lid pops open

Those are good points of why having hopper mounted backwards works. I know I have had doors pop open. Did not empty much out,but still some still sucks.

Very common for field rentals to be set up like this.

It really doesn’t matter. It’s usually better for new players so they don’t dump out their hopper every time they lift the gun.

Wasn' t there a really popular paintball trophy top circa 1999 where the hopper was on backwards? I remember seeing 4 or 5 of them, the kind any local trophy shop would order from a generic catalog.

That's the one...so the hopper is the correct way but I did remember there was all sorts or wrong with it. It gets worse the longer you look.

Its like when an Ebay seller sells a "Lonestar Paintgun" because it was literally the only marking on the whole gun. I used to search for those, knowing I'd always get a good deal. LOL.

On a related note, in the old old days, it was common to see people turn the hoppers sideways. it drove me nuts, but "gun hits dont count" was a fairly common rule in the in the old days so it kinda makes sense.

I played a "gun hits don't count" game once- one of the guys on the opposite team had a Stroker with a 24 oz tank on vertical, and a 310 round "Dominator" loader... turned sideways. He basically carried his own bunker.

                  Doc.

I actually had a buddy who would do this even though gun hits were counted.... He didn't play a ton and figured it'd hurt less if it hit the hopper then if it hit him.

I've occasionally run a VL-2000 backwards on a centerfeed cocker to allow clearance for an Armson Sight.
