    Posting Photos in Proper Orientation

When posting pictures from phones sometimes your photos will rotate and not show the correct orientation. Simply the phone sense what the top of the photo is and the forum doesn’t.

    The fix:
On your device change the orientation to the wrong orientation and save the photo. Then re-orientate the photo back to the proper orientation and save the photo. Upload your photo and it will now have the proper orientation!

This is good to know. I have tried multiple ways to get some photos to be oriented the proper way and couldn't do it. I'll give this a try.

It's annoying as hell but you have to take pics with the shutter button on the right (or bottom) if you want them to orient correctly. Phone designers assume the entire world is so completely right handed that our left hands are basically vestigial and original orientation gets recorded in the metadata of the pic.

Lots of upside-down pics when you post?

Same as Scott. I have tried a bunch of different ways even went as far as changing it to the wrong orientation to see if it appears right. But never tried saving it back the other way. Good to know thanks for that I will give that a try.

I’ve tested it out in my Poo Build. My picture came out sideways. Tried this trick and it’s properly orientated now.

What also works is cropping your photo. It resets the orientation to what you want.

Nice, didn’t realize that but makes sense.
