    Greetings from an old hand

    Salutations all!

My name's Pumodi. I'm an old player who was mostly active back in 2008/2009. Mostly I played Airball with an amateur 3 man team. I think we technically played X-Ball, I don't remember if there's any differentiation haha.

I'm looking into getting back into Paintball a little here and there. I've always been interested in Scenario and never had a chance to try it so I'm going to see if I can build up a kit to try that out. The dream would have been Oklahoma D-Day but as far as I know that's not running anymore, at least not in the way it used to. Excited to meet y'all!

It's kind of a good thing d day isn't running any more. The guy who owned that property was just using it as a cash grab. The last d day he didn't even have any medical personnel on site for a 2500 player game in 105F heat. The players basically revolted, the Friday games got cancelled and he convinced 3 players who were EMTs in their professional lives to be medics for the Saturday game. So I salute those 3 EMTs but they never should have been put in a position where they had to give up their vacation and work in order to give that game any sense of safety.

The supergame series is really good. They have 4 games, West, Central, East and South so chances are one is at least somewhat close to you. West, also known as Oregon supergame is the original and easily the largest, 1800 players on an average year.

Invasion of Normandy at Skirmish in PA is a Glorious Shit Show if you are looking for the biggest of big games. First time get Allied tickets get in The first boat closest to the German spawn get there early. I Highly recommend that experience..

OSG Barnstead, New Hampshire hands down the best paintball field and atmosphere. Amazing unique fields, skilled respectful players, the Very best Refs, Bar / Restaurant, proshop with all the latest gear, camping available as well. I have played 100s of different fields this one is the best. There big games are balanced there walk ons days are fast paced. Guaranteed to get your moneys worth. You will play as much paintball as your body can handle. Be ready they aren’t waiting for stragglers. OSG goes hard! I drive 4.5hrs one way to play there it’s that good. If you are lucky Tom will take a bad ass photo of you doing something amazing. Dave the owner will come chill by the fire pit and tell stories.

I highly recommend both fields if you are looking for bucket list destinations.

Wanes World in FL is a great event. Big game for the FL boys.

Super Game at OXCC is another good one I recommend. Planning on playing that next year. Fast pased in your face action lots of cover. (Think big game speedball)

Sherwood Forest in Indiana super cool unique Field built from railroad ties Turned into Lincoln log like Structures. The field is super tight lots of cover. Play style is more reserved there. But the fields are super cool and unique. I had a ton of fun playing there it’s like playing in a ferry tail. But the competition was lacking 6 skilled players were able to push the big game spawns.

I'm based out of Portland, OR! Just recently started doing some research. When I was playing I was in the SF Bay Area. My 'home' field was Paintball Jungle in American Canyon.

This is what I've been reading too. I remember reading something about how the last event was a nightmare. I'll check out Supergame! Fun to know that the largest one is in my state :3

These all sound dope! Thank you for the info. I feel like I've heard of Sherwood Forest in the past. Has that been running for a while?

the owners of it basically screwed a big name promoter in the midwest. Amazing field, but it sounds like this is not the first time they've done shady things. I sadly wont' be going back to play there.

I could see that he seemed pretty arrogant when I met him. Field is sick tho. They did night games with battery operated motion sensors. It was chaos in a fun way.

You should definitely hit the Oregon Supergame. It's just down in StPaul... practically in your back yard.

Splat Action out in Molalla runs little scenarios every now and then. As Levi mentioned Supergame is a good time and draws a couple thousand people every spring. A few locals also head up to Royal Ridges in Battleground for rec play with some regularity. Impact Action puts on some pretty decent games too. You definitely have some options in the area.

Oh hell you're in the PNW, I'm just up in Vancouver (WA) and there's a good chunk of other members in this area. There was 20 or so of us that made supergame last year, we even ran a vendor tent because everyone had so much stuff to sell. Between jokers and myself we get about 10 camping spots and set up a big group camp.

Outside of supergame we often play at Royal ridges summer camp. They have an open play paintball every 3rd Saturday of the month and have some pretty good fields. The staff is excellent there to boot. Super Nova always brings some crap marker to shoot and every once in a while Rusty Brass shows up and sells me some FSR

This is really awesome to hear. When I was growing up in the bay area it seemed like there wasn't much in the way of non-airball play in the area. Could just be my lack of research haha

Welcome! I’m near Portland and typically play out in the woods in the summer near Browns Camp or at Impact Action Sports in Tualatin. They have discounted prices on Black Friday and free rentals if you don’t have gear yet. I think they’ve just about moved their entire rental fleet over to emeks, so a step up from the Tippmanns of yore.

                            Check it out!
