    Empire sniper regulator help

Picked up a used empire sniper a couple of years ago and unfortunately today was only the second time I've been able to play with it, but I'm having some issues.

For some reason I can get it to chrono over 250-260 which is ok but weird. Noticed the gun was shooting all over tha place today so when i got home i took apart the regulator.

It was covered in grease for.some reason all the shims were lightly coated so I cleaned them off but now I can't figure out the shim orientation and I dont have a manual and can't find it online.

    Tldr:
does anyone know the shim stack orientation for an empire sniper regulator?

would the shim and reg having grease coated on it cause inconsistency issues?

You just flip each shim opposite the previous shim so the whole stack acts as a spring

Some grease is fine loads of grease might be a problem

    Here's the manual

I thought these had reg seat issues and it was common to upgrade the reg. I think inception designs makes upgrades for it to fix issues.

Definitely replace the reg seat and orings while it's taken apart.

I had mine blow the seat. Replace with a wgp one. They hold up better as they are solid without the hole in the center.

The only down side is they will hold pressure in the marker when you degass so you have to do a clearing shot or two.

My Sniper blew a seat and then blew my valve stem. Fun times!

This is good stuff to know. I put a empire reg on my ion back in 2009 and never had an issue other than it not being as consistent as my cp and other regs. But i do have that thing running pretty low at like 110-120 psi

Inception Designs reg seats are also good, drop right in, and retain the venting functionality.
