    Walzmas Question - About participation

Curious as to see why people do or do not participate in Walzmas. This year was a slower year, at least for me. I didn't do as many giveaways as I usually do and seemed like I had to beg people to sign up for the one giveaway I did. So curious to see why. What's your feelings on Walzmas?

I didn’t participate this year simply cause I’ve been busy as shit in my home life and I didn’t want to half ass it or add it to my growing to-do list and stress out about something that’s supposed to be lighthearted and fun.

i plan on doing a spontaneous Walzmas giveaway in the next couple months once my work and home life settle out a bit.

Thank you for keeping the spirit!!

I’m in the same boat. I wanted to do a walzmas giveaway but life was just too crazy busy for me to commit.

I can say for me it was my inability to guarantee a timely shipping. Which wouldn't be far to recipients. Since early November things have been crazy. Had a surprise trip to Mrtyle Beach to see relatives. Then played catchup ever since. Now that the holidays are over things are starting to get back to normal.

I didnt participate. I cant explain why. I just felt battered by life going into the season. Bitter, and not in a giving moodn Adding walzmas or santa to my plate was not of an interest of mine this year.

I didn't run a giveaway. I just made a gun to give away to someone who needed it who I knew had been generous before. I knew they would use it and appreciate it and I have been lucky in the past. So I marked myself as participating in this poll, though I didn't post it. Big fan of Walzmas.

Completely understandable responses. I know it's Christmas is a very busy time, especially leading up to it. Wondering if we slide things a bit if it would make Walzmas easier to participate in. If Walzmas kicks off starting Christmas Eve, so we can have our traditional poem posted, and then thing can be done after Christmas and into January when things aren't as busy. Secret Santa can be done done at the same time, so people get their goodies in advance. Would pushing Walzmas back a little make it easier to participate in?

And for reference, just kicking around ideas on how to keep Walzmas vibrant. Not looking to make big changes or anything, just don't want to see it fade away.

Personal family issues (I am not living at home right now) derailed my attempt this year.

                  1. I wasn’t super clear on the way it works., I think I get it now.

                  2. I was trying to disconnect, not engage online.

                  3. I honestly don’t want more paintball, I am starting to plateau, in a good way. I’ll comeback to niche entry level gear one day, but for now I’m into old custom high end Autocockers.

                  4. I didn’t want to take the prize from someone who was truly in the spirit, deserving, and worthy of all the goodness and weirdness this site has to offer. I have never seen the level of weird, cool, and fun that I have seen here.

Happy Walzmas Ye’all and a Happy New Years ya filthy animals!

It’s been a pretty rough year in the US, I feel like most of us are focused on family this holiday season.

Also anyone who’s been reading up on current events is basically holding their breath for the AI bubble to either pop or pay out- both outcomes will be bad for the laborer’s economy.

I did a very, very low friction Walzmas because it's what could be accomplished this month. Stretching it through the traditional 12 days of Christmas or further, might have some extra time to plan and execute.

I'm also trying to downsize/ streamline as much as possible, so what I do have isn't really "giveawayable", and what others are giving away is not necessarily up my alley.

Now... here's a wild idea. MCB White Elephant.
Some general guidelines on value, a "drawing" order, a repository of photos of the gift packages... I'm sure it would take a very involved administrator to work smoothly, and they'd deserve a community gift basket for their efforts, but it could be pretty exciting. Is mystery box A an old Tricar, a Flex, or a box of Spyders?

Wasn't feeling it this year. Maybe next year?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I didn't participate. Shame on me. I volunteered for too many other charitable events this year. That snowballed with the rest of life's requirements to completely run me ragged. Without seeing it coming, I let life pin me down and make me its prison wife. Hopefully, I can get a handle on things in the New Year.
