How many trees do you have tapped? My family sometimes does it on our property, not sure if we're doing it this year though

Nice!! My tree sap is on hold while I'm away right now but I'm hoping to still get some boiling in when I get back. So much snow still. The trees are tapped... Soon!!

Have you considered using plastic tubing instead of the galvanized spouts and buckets? My family used to use the galvanized stuff years ago, then switched to the plastics. I'm told that the galvanized stuff can be poisonous, and we used to get flies and stuff in the galvanized buckets, but since you just run a plastic tube into your container of choice, flies don't get in that way. Also you can run multiple trees into a single bucket, usually we use a 5 gallon bucket with one of the spout lids.

I'm told that Bascom is where we got most of the plastics from, it's probably worth looking into

It’s all aluminum, galvanized had been gone for years. I have been doing this for around 30 years now learning how to do this roughly 40 years ago. once the insects are out you are done collecting Yes
I have tubing and containment on most trees. Hahah m probably older than your parents.
        Working...
