Prices seem pretty standard to me. Sandana shit has been bonkers since I was still on social media.
I bought a gearbag off of craigslist years ago. Had 4 guns and a real tree sandana in it. I didnt even realize the sandana was in there when I bought it. Got home. Saw the wrap, and instantly made 50 bucks.
Usually when someone here first discovers that people are selling strips of crummy cloth for the price of an autococker body someone who buys and sells the things or is otherwise sympathetic crawls out of the wood to explain that we’re all idiots for not knowing what stuff is worth.
So where is that guy? The guy who explains that, duh, this is like Prada? I ask because as soon as he’s gone it means there’s no market and these guys are not collectors anymore but rather bag holders and I look forward to that day.
MCB...
A collection of crusty greybeards willing to shell out middle aged money for brass and anodized aluminum.
Also willing to throw major shade at the the young bloods who can and do drive a collector market for paintball clothes and accessories.
There's been a secondary market for Sandana product for 2 decades. Kids want to rock cool old out of production paintball gear.
Sounds a little bit like the MCB demographic, only younger.
Yeah, I’m not “throwing shade” at anyone due to their age. And I wouldn’t mock anyone who can sell a bandana for $600, either. However, the person who pays $600 for a paintball bandana does make me chuckle because it is my belief and opinion that they likely have more money than common sense. And there may be a generational disconnect here, but I’ve been chuckling at all the “agg” boys in this sport for decades so I kind of doubt it. We can agree to disagree, but from where I sit being the guy with the rarest paintball bandana seems about the same as being the coolest teenager in fifth grade.
I suffer from it too. I collected sports cards and comic books in my youth. I can't figure why someone would pay for Pokemon or Beanie Babies or whatever else the cool (or uncool) kids collect these days.
The pop culture of MY youth matters to ME. At 55 years old that means 1970s and 1980s swag. Most stuff that's newer than that falls flat for me. Modern cars, blah. Current pop music ...hard pass.
We don't have to understand the very subjective passions of those who collect what we don't. We simply have to recognize we suffer from a similar affliction.
