April fool! Tell us your best prank.

One time while working at a factory, we had an extremely elder guy as a janitor. This guy had a habit of changing his shoes before leaving the factory.
So, after he left for the day, I placed his shoes in a bathroom stall and used a stick to flip the lock inside.
Then I told the boss the old man wasn't answering to knocks or calls.
Half the admin office was in that bathroom yelling and knocking. They could see the shoes under the door and assumed it was him.
It wasn't until one of the foremen actually laid on the floor and looked inside under the door that they figured it out.

I was confronted and confessed, but even the owner said it was a good prank.

Not April Fools day related but...

After my brother-in-law's stag I told him he have puked all over the back of his car and he should probably clean it up. It was summer and hot the car was in direct sunlight, just cooking the vomit. My brother-in-law was dreading cleaning up the mess and once he felt better geared up and ent out to clean it up. He popped the back door open and it was spotless. He appreciated the joke at least!

My sister asked me to fix something on her phone, so I did. I also took a picture of my black kitty's one brown eye and put it as her wallpaper picture behind the apps. Two to three months later someone had borrowed her phone and asked why there as a picture of a cat's butt on it. we had cat butt theme gifts for a a couple years and we have finally had a cat butt truce but not before I got my mom to make cat butt coasters for my sister for Christmas.

Get three pigs. Paint the numbers 1, 2, and 4 on each pig respectively. Release the pigs in a building such as your school, your office, your place of work, etc.

Everyone will be looking for the pig with a 3 on it.

Best April Fool's joke I, personally, ever pulled, was 2009, on TWB. I replaced the main page with a raw directory list page, making it look like the site was open to public access.

And included such things as a folder labeled "humor" (which, if clicked on takes you to a "not found" page ) a 30GB "Pirta Porn" file, and a "Doc Podcast" which is actually- of course- a Rickroll.

But, the best part was readers actually called my ISP to report it as being open.

          Doc.

About a dozen years ago I was working swing shift in a plant engineer/maintenance electrician role. This started one evening after my boss had left for the day. I got the bright idea to go turn his office light switch upside down. So he comes in the next day and up is off... down is on. Good laughs were had by all.

After a couple days he comes to me and says "that's a good one Levi, but can you please fix my light switch?" To which I reply "sure thing Frank, I'll fix it this evening."

So evening rolls around and I go scrounging for parts in the maintenance shop. I come up with this assembly of junk to replace his switch with a twistlock plug and socket....

And for the rest of the week he had to plug the cords together to turn his office lights on.

I had a teacher in high school who was a bit jumpy. Once I had balloons, and whenever one popped, she'd jump a mile.

So one evening, I got a helium tank, told the janitor it was her birthday, and filled the room with balloons. I mean FILLED.

My friends who had her first period said she walked in, groaned "Nate..." then had people start stabbing balloons until there was enough space to teach.

Some years ago, there was an April Fool's joke spread about U.S. currency being printed in blue rather than green ink.
99.9% sure this is the same.

                  unfortunately,
the holders of the largest piles of crypto (govt and bankers) have zero qualms about being able to digitally track your every purchase and forcing you to adapt to a system they completely control and dominate.

Not me, but I got to to see it.
When I was working mortuary transport, one of the guys at the big central location spent his free time wrapping the clearest plastic and tape he could find around a spare dummy.
Then he carefully removed it and placed it in one of the coolers, leaving a transparent human-shaped figure visible off the the side once the door got opened.

Years ago a place I worked had a display that had a few realistic life sized horse mannequin busts made of polystyrene, when the display was replaced, I acquired one of those heads and left it in a flatmates bed, I was not there for the reveal, but by all accounts she noticed it......errr....... at volume.

i do this bit, its my fake smoking habit. it all started when a girlfriend and i were talking about how funny it would be to have your partner come back from the bathroom after sex, and have you smoking, but none of us smoke, so we decided to do the bit with a fake cigarette. i did it with my most uptight stickler at the time partner, and its hilarious, and so like any good joke ... it keeps spiraling right.

like smoking, is 100% without a doubt, so, insanely, cool. terrible, and no one should do it, but it is almost totally inherently cool. you think you look cool? you'd look cooler with a cigarette. but the good news, is that you dont have to smoke, to look that fucking cool, you just need a prop cigarette.

so pretty soon im buying fake cigarettes for costumes, a cigarette case and zippo lighter (its really great to light the thing, like outside at a bar, also makes an excellent fidget for my nuero spicies), its becoming a whole performance right. a whole character in this one prop. we even got into ash trays for a hot second (surprisingly hard to find the unhinged ashtrays of our youth). for a while my fake smoking habit was actually rather expensive.

so the whole thing boils over when me and my partner and their girlfriend are at this wedding. now, we only know the couple at this wedding, both their family's are from out of town and we are the weird "oh you guys are the local friends!" anyway. also kinda weird to be a wedding publicly as basically a triad, but we are looking stylishly fly as fuck, our goth girl is all formal gothed up, i have a fucking black velvet suit coat on, and my partner wore 3 different dresses to the party, at different times, and we're having a great time. the party is an unairconditioned space, and so the dace floor gets too hot, so we retreat to a table on the patio, where its cool and dark. and pretty soon the air is full of smoke, its dark, we are all joking and carrying on with our assorted drug habits, you know, as one does at a good drug table at a wedding. and im fake smoking right? and people from the wedding are coming over to us and chatting and we're all having a good time getting to know our friends family etc.

and after probably 45 minutes, the grooms brother tries to bum a cigarette from me.

and i say, i mean if you want one you can, but its a fake cigarette.

and he just turns to with his face just melting down "what even is real about you guys?" we all had a fantastic laugh, because of all the real insanity we brought to the party, the fake cig bit was the final straw of just how much of a villain we'd all become to every white picket fence, middle class, suburban, George McGovern voter that night. my villain era had truly begun.

im workshopping a fake cocaine habit, because i think that coke is a sexy drug. or like, the zeitgeist around coke is that thin, stylishly brown, villainous types have a coke habit. like dudes with hairlines like mine, who drive 911s, a few people on their payroll, and visibly slutty but also queer women around, have coke habits. so i should probably you know, have a fake coke habit too.

so, my whole life has been slowly turning into a bit, through fake drug habits.

My wife got had at work one year. The old pen gimmicked for shock was the method. She enthusiastically asked the coworker who had victimized her to borrow the device to use on me.

That evening she approached me with some "insurance documents" and said trick pen.

I'm aware it's April 1st. Someone on MCB had posted an undrilled silver to blue fade Belsales Evo X in the bst section for $400. I'm guessing the pen is a trick.

I click, it shocks, I pokerface through it.
                      Lather, rinse, repeat.
                      Lather, rinse, repeat.
                      Lather, rinse, repeat.

" Hey honey, this pen doesn't work, grab another one.'

She saltily grabs grabs the pen out of my hand and clicks it. She yelps like an angry puppy.

                      Uno reverse card deployed.

Not sure if this qualifies as a prank and also not on April 1
in my younger days at a party at my friend house i past out on his couch. When I woke up and tried to get up I realized my shirt and pants had been sewn to the cushions.

My daughter got me good this year. I like Good & Plentys candies, i get a box now and then when we do movie nights at home. I happened to have an open box of them on the counter, and my daughter decided to add about a dozen vitamin capsules to the box. a capsule filled with a white powder looks very convincingly like a white Good and Plenty! I threw a hand-full in my mouth and took me a few good chews to realize something wasn't right, by which time she was busting up laughing at my sour face.
