As a young teen me and some buddies thought it would be a good idea to catch a couple catfish and release them into out towns public pool. They actually survived in there for a week before they either died or were removed.

one walzmas giveaway (carbon fiber whinny. hopper.)

Been working on living in the moment, focusing on enjoying what's going on in the moment instead of replaying the past or planning the future in my head.

Catfish, and bottom feeders in general are fucking invincible. I had a pleco fish for over a decade, dude survived multiple tank failures and diseases that wiped out many of his friends over the years. I even found him on the ground once, almost dry but still kicking. I wouldn't be shocked if they survived

Went fishing in the gulf for the first time with my grandpa when I was about 9. Reeled in a very colorful weird looking fish and was excited to show him. He told me it was a puffer and that they were nuisance fish. I think “rodents of the sea” may have been his wording. He unhooked it for me, threw it down pretty rough in the boat, and when it puffed up he took the knife from his belt and stabbed it so it deflated. Threw it back in the ocean to die and told me to catch better fish.

      Life lessons right there!

I have been out in the ocean a few times with a co-worker and her husband, fishing for halibut, tuna, crabs, and rock fish (on separate occasions, because in Oregon, you cannot have both rockfish and halibut on the same boat trip). Her husband, the skipper, was a funny guy, retired coastguard. "You know how to tell the difference between a halibut and a flounder? Stick your finger in it's mouth. If you still have a finger, it's a flounder."

I catch the first halibut. I'm reeling this thing off the bottom (600+ft) and the sinker is 3lbs of solid lead. The fish itself was the smallest one we kept, about 33lbs. I was dead tired, but determined to reel it up by myself. My brother catches the largest of the trip, over 65lbs, and we are taking turns reeling it in, tapping out when exhausted. It really wasn't so much a fight with the halibut, as it was an endurance competition. It felt like it took at least 15min of cranking. The skipper catches the next one, only he has an automated reel. He looks back at us while the lines zips in at a steady pace. "Ugh...my thumb is so tired."

Later on, we were drifting about, eating lunch. Skipper has a small bit of sandwich left and tosses it overboard. One of the circling seagulls lands in the water and starts to nibble as it drifts out farther from the boat. As I watched the bird lazily eat, a shark fin breaches, heading in that direction. The bird barely escapes the jaws of a small blue shark, as the fish eats the sandwich piece instead.

10 friends chartered a boat off the coast of Mexico. woke up to an 8ft swell. everyone puked. one was in fetal position on the floor of the boat. we caught an 80 pound wahoo. A massive el dorado flipped off the hook, because someone couldn't hit it with the bat. the wahoo was delicious. I will have a walzmas for the town bike.

Last chance to get in on this! We’re having Nerf death match later today! Entries to into a hat or hat-like object and drawn. Each player draws a name, battle starts, two hits and drawn name is eliminated. Player grabs the next name. One name in the bucket for each entry.

We have some new blasters and gear to test out!

          1) The last time I went clamming (I'm more of a shellfishing guy than a "true" fishing guy) my ADHD destroyed 3 cell phones.

          4) I'm really bad at sleeping which in turn makes me shitty at other aspects of life. Been really trying to get a consistent 7-8 hours lately and I'm having some success.

We are now closed to entries! The troops are scarfing down lunch. 43 entries are all the tallies were done. Perhaps I was too generous on the number of entries awarded, but oh well!

Final four! No double eliminations anymore. Mrs. Cuda had come in and handed me my tail more than a few times so far.

Yes! I was going to do a little write-up on them. Was a gift from grandma! I’d never seen them before.
