Looks like a saucy time of year haha I’m a fan of Stubbs bbq sauce. I never had any complaints yet. Also Sweet Baby Rays but always prefer Stubbs if available.

Definitely try “Dillo Dust” I use to get it shipped with AR parts at the same time, from LaRue tactical. It’s an amazing dry rub on really anything.

Hmm. This one is a little expensive —but it has really good reviews. You recommend the “thick” version over the original?

Stubb's mesquite, and Rudy's Rub are always on hand. Rudy's is good for white meats IMO. I prefer to let red meats speak for themselves more, and stick to salt, pepper, garlic, and maybe a green herb like rosemary.

I agree. Most quality red mea just needs a little salt. I’ve never been big on rubs on red meat unless it’s a brisket. Thanks for the suggestions.

Bbq sauce on chicken and pork ribs but always salt and pepper on beef, with some onion powder. Mmhmmm now I’m hungry.

This is my go-to rub. Mind you, I often use it as a condiment on my meats.

"Aren't you getting too old for this??"
    "Nope."

I wanna try the “no sugar” variety of Sweet Baby Rays. I plan on drinking like a fish this holiday season, I could use a BBQ sauce without sugar if it’s good.

I’ve always went with original but I’m sure the others are just as good. I’m curious to see what they used instead of sugar 🧐

The "no sugar" is actually pretty good, but that's coming from me. I can barely tell when its artificially sweetened or not...

Swedgin!! RPP very true. If they’re using synthetic sweeteners or corn syrup:
It defeats the whole purpose. And to the contrary, actually, they can be carcinogenic.

      Another good one!

for sauces the gates original or extra spicy are good options out of KC. The 12 Bones Blueberry Chipotle sauce is a great sauce out of NC.

for rubs I would recommend the Gator Hammock “Cooter Rubb” or the Everglades Cactus Dust. These have been my go to’s lately. Secret rub you can’t buy online I would try to find Dave’s Jay’s BBQ in Columbus MS. It is hands down my favorite but hard to get your hands on.

mambo sauce is a dc/baltimore/dmv staple.
its pretty much ketchup/bbq sauce 50/50 with some other seasonings sprinkled in. afaik, it gained popularity being offered at chinese take outs and folks all have their own preferences when it comes to mambo. "Oh that place mambo sucks, you gotta get the wings there, but get the sauce across the street" ive heard many times while in dc
i dont think that version is popular since its supposed to be "made fresh" and theres no definitive recipe

I like Sweet Baby Rays for bbq sauce. When I do pulled pork I will cut it with apple cider vinegar to give it a little something.

Beef - holy gospel from meat church
Ribs - Rendezvous seasoning with some Cajun spice added.

Sauce, you can't beat sweet baby rays for the price, but the Champions Blend by Blue Hog is great. Used to be cheap at Walmart but now its more popular in my area and twice the price at Ace.
