    Lets see those home gyms!

Home gyms are all the covid-rage right? Wanted one myself for a long time but I haven't had the space until now.

Bench + weights (FB market place pickup)

    Rowing machine (free)

Before we break a sweat let's decide on a safe word.

Hard to see thanks to my phone camera being junk. Gave up a huge portion of my man cave to start a home gym during covid.

Its a work in progress. Next thing on the list would be a weight tree for my plates that are scattered om the floor.

We have cheap sunny branded spin bike, sole f80 treadmill, amd a squat rack, adjustable bench, 300 punds of plate weight. Dumbells ranging from 45lbs to 5 lbs. Mats. Rollers, ropes, bands, ect.

The wash of light is a blue light "happy lamp" and a bank of daylight bulbs. Not only is it super dark here with the wood paneling, I try to use the wash of blue light to help keep my circadian rhythm right as I wake up way too early to utilize the sun all year. Click image for larger version

I got a little crazy into CrossFit during COVID so I bought a bunch of Rogue equipment and started hitting it hard at home. It’s actually pretty nice to be able to wander out into the garage and blow off some stream for an 20 minutes or an hour depending on the day. I’ve also got a rower and an assault bike.

Ooh that setup is cleannnn. I really need to get a rack for my weights.

      #5
I bought a barbell and some cheap dumbbells that use olympic-sized plates. Most of the weightlifting I prefer is compound barbell exercises so a rudimentary setup works well for me. I want to get more stuff (incline bench, more plates, etc.), but Craigslist has had slim pickings since the start of COVID and I don't really mess with FB anymore. I live in a woodsy area so there are a ton of trails nearby for cardio, which is nice.

But you kept the Shocker so you wouldn't need any more plates.

The bike is shitty and cheap. Just use it to warm up with. Have a Peloton in the basement that I actually use for spinning (read: my fiancé uses it).

I got lucky on Craigslist when all the gyms shut down, now I don’t think I’m ever going back.

ID:	182370 Not best photo. Lots of weights. Some bumpers. Commercial grade bench. 70lbs bag.

I built the rack from 2 x 4’s. Def want a nice wall mount or a shallow rack, but should probably grab a trap bar and assault bike first. Shoulder is ducked again anyhow so less of a rush.

Yeah. Two x 3’s and maple. I could rack 500 lbs and not be worried… not that I could lift that. When the pandemic started I couldn’t find a rack in stock to save my life, and with that jog in the wall it needs to have some depth, but I don’t want a 48” rack either.

Well our ever expanding gym grows. Whats left of my man cave is abysmal as its been fully encroached. On the bright side. Our newest piece of equipment is this nordictrack rowing machine.

I was against the rowing machine with a tv initially when my wife proposed the purchase, but I'm glad she talked me into it. We have had it over a month, and I have no regrets buying this bad boy.

Endurance is climbing, my knees hurt less from less impact, and the i fit programs are really fun. Rowing the hippo infested waters of Africa from the safety of my basement was a trip.

I get a lot more out of it than I expected.

I cut my teeth on something similar in my teens.

Nothing like blasting tunes at 11pm with a beer and 230lbs on the bench and the garage door wide open.

BrickHaus I’m still using this setup well into my 30s. Those arms on that bench get a little wobbly with anything over 225 (hasn’t stopped me from going over that yet haha)

We converted a bedroom to a closet/workout room.

                My Zwift setup

I use my road bike on a Zwift Hub one. I use an iPad on a stand for Zwift.

The my wife uses the elliptical machine and I use the cable machine.

The ottoman in front of the cable machine gets moved when I use it. One of my dogs will lay on it while I'm riding my bike.
