Apple watch workout setting while playing?

I see that my apple watch has a pickleball setting under workouts but of course no paintball. I was wondering if anyone else here turns on their watch workout feature while playing and what they select. Since this site caters to let's just say more "mature players", I thought maybe some of you track your exercise while you play. I could use some of the other generic ones but I wasn't sure if anyone had played around with that. I like the high intensity interval training or outdoor run but I play then rest and repeat all day. Not sure any of those are going to measure it well. I play with the watch on but it doesn't really register the exercise as such.

I wear a Fitbit so it just tracks steps/movement, but in the past I’ve used the hiking setting on Strava, which feels pretty accurate.

BLachance75 and I have been trying for a while to find the right activity to log. Play way overestimates burn. Found that outdoor walk was much more accurate, HOWEVER, totally drains the battery due to GPS. That said, I’m still looking for the perfect one.

Like packersrule729 said I've tried Play and Outdoor Walk. Play definitely over estimates your activity. I like Outdoor Walk because it will track you and show it on the map but it does use more battery. My watch battery lasts for more than a day anyways so it isn't a problem for me.

I try to start the activity at the beginning of the day and pause between games. I will occasionally forget to start for a game.

Here is 2 days of playing from a few weeks ago so you can see the comparison. Both days were roughly the same amount of games. If anything I actually played more on the second day.

I'll probably stick with Outdoor Walk but will try out Hiking to see how that does. I should also try to start Strava on my phone and have that record an activity and then compare it to what my Apple Watch records.

Yeah I like that the outdoor walk tracks you too. I can usually get more than a day on my watch so I'll try that next time. They need a running around and then 10 minutes of BSing setting! 🤣
