    Anybody into boxing?

So I’m late to the boxing game. But I switched from Orange Theory(30-8-2023/30-3-2024) to that. Been at it for 3weeks now doing a weekly group session and 2 regular day per week.

I purchased an amateur license so I can get to sparring with other’s. I don’t have the cardio to finish 1:30min rounds but it been improving little by little. We have head protection, mouth and groin protection.

    Fitness Journey from 1-7-2022: 226.2p

Not me. I have a bad ticker, and enough CTE already.

That being said your weight cut sounds awesome! You just working out, or have you done changed your diet as well?

Myself, I down to 194, but I intermittently fast, and workout fasted, so I think I do myself a disservice for preformance as a result.

So wait.. I've never heard of buying a boxing license. Is that a Canada thing, or do fighters in the US have to register also?

Formality with boxing Canada to get to sparring. Sort of an insurance if you want to fight with your peers but not doing competition. It’s a 10$/year cost while pro is 100$/year.

Not currently on a special diets and you don’t see my yo-yo just then and now :P

But can answer many keto, paleo, low carb diets questions. I already experimented with my body.

What I can say is that back in January I readed
to start your day with 30gr of protein(choosed pineapple flavor) and I decided to add coconuts solids(keto experience) and it’s shedding fats.

Fasted training is counter productive. 30gr of protein before a workout so you burn that instead of your own muscles that you will rebuilt and lose time after time.

First 2h at the club tonight, training with my mouth piece that I re-adjusted and it is a charm now. No sparring but I did 2 rounds on the bag following the ring lights so again small improvement!

Price it is on the low side sure but in my day I’ll have 2 shake of 30-40gr, a chicken(breast if I’m lucky) and 340gr of ground beef(or whatever on the cheap), I also go into Greek yogurt that give me another ~18gr so in my day I’m alright.

Price did you consider the energy of the coconut in that shake? ~300cal of nice fats.

I've been into Muay Thai for about a year and a half. I think. Not quite the same thing, but the punchery aspect is definitely there.

I just did my first tourney March. Full contact, so that was definitely an experience. I lost, but I'm stupid, so I'll be doing I again.

Oh cool let’s be inclusive to combat sports!

That still great to hear that you went into a competition. That a lot of dedication into learning it. I know I can push myself too hard too fast lol.

Nothing trains your reflexes like having someone trying to smack you.

I've done boxing training for fitness for over 13 years. That said myself and my trainer do spar with the rule of no headshots and it's more just light mostly pulled punches more about reflexes and speed. As mentioned above your reflexes get real good when someone is trying to get you a good ol smack to the ribs
