Book recommendations for a Brandon Sanderson fan

Being the compulsive planner that I am, I'm looking at what to get my wife for Christmas this year. I have an idea involving a small number of items I think she'll like, one of them is a book. She loves sci fi, and her favorite author is Brandon Sanderson. I know he's mostly a fantasy author but I also know he does sci fi as well. She also likes the City of Glass series, Divergent, and she's currently reading Shards of Earth. Can anyone make some recommendations of books she might like?

Roger Zelazny

Jack of Shadows is a favorite of mine from him, and if you look him up you will see his popular classics. (Nine Princes in Amber (series), Lord of Light) if you haven't read him at all, those three should be high on your list.

Jack of Shadows is a great short story that I rarely hear people reference. Roger Zelazny definitely should appeal to someone who like Brandon Sanderson. One book of his that definitely has a different twist on magic, kind of like Sanderson's Mistborn doing something different, is "Changeling".

You say Sci-Fi but it looks like her taste is more toward Fantasy with some Space Opera and Dystopia thrown in?

Space Opera/Sci-Fi

• Honor Harrington Series by David Weber
• Hyperion by Dan Simmons
• Anything by H. Beam Piper (this is original space opera from the 50s and 60s and so can feel a little dated at first but the stories are great and are the foundation of a lot of Sci Fi and in particular Space Opera to this day) My go to book is Space Viking but the Fuzzy Sapiens stories are a lot of fun.
• Dragon Riders of Pern Series by Ann McCaffery (yes this is Sci Fi not Fantasy)

Fantasy

• The Cycle of Arawn by Edward W. Robertson (I stumbled onto this one as a free offering from Audible and really enjoyed it)
• Shannara Series by Terry Brooks
• Memory, Sorrow and Thorn Series by Tad Williams
• Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust
• Belgariad series by David Eddings
• Earthsea Trilolgy by Ursula K. Le Guin

I've read the entire Cosmere series, so I could say Sanderson is up there on my list too. If Sci-Fi is on her list and not just fantasy, then I can recommend James S. A. Corey and John Scalzi. For fantasy I also like Andrzej Sapkowski and George R. R. Martin's other works besides just A Song of Ice and Fire. If she liked the Wax and Wayne novels, she would probably enjoy the Wild Cards series too.
