Just finished the Southern Reach trilogy

and man what a ride.

I don't think I've ever encountered that type of imagery before, the last 1/3 of the final book (Acceptance) is wrought with acid-trip like mental images and cerebral ideas that leave me feeling raw and vaguely confused. I quite enjoyed the series, even though there's part of me that wants more concrete answers.

Anyone else read this series? Anyone have any suggestions that are along the same lines?

Highly recommended. They are insanely visual and fascinating to me. I also really liked the movie Annihilation, but it departs from the book pretty significantly. After finishing the series I really wish they had kept to the source material and made three movies.

Count me in! The movie left me wanting more and it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I usually watch a movie first and then read the book anyway. Going to see if the library has the first one today. Thanks for the rec.
