Suggestions on a book of short ghost stories?

Last year I brought a book of short ghost stories on a camping trip in the BWCA for reading out loud around the campfire at night. It turned out to be a favorite of the group and I’d like to do it again this year.

Does Anybody have any recommendations on a good quality book? Preferably nothing too bulky or heavy, since this is a backcountry trip and I have to haul everything in.

Scary stories to tell in the dark. Before it was a movie it was a collection of books and it scared the crap out of me when i was younger. Still scares me a little today.

I LOVE scary stories to tell in the dark.

Also check out Penpal by Dan Auerbach. It’s a smaller paperback and I think could be a fun campfire read.

Some are short some not so short but look up H. P. Lovecraft

I would recommend HP Lovecraft for short novellas, they are more mature, not sure if they’re meant for kids, but they span from cosmic horror to supernatural folklore.
