Never was a huge fantasy guy (I was bullied by my dad for reading fantasy so I stopped)
Game of Thrones got me back into it - heavy descriptive prose (almost a-la Tolkein) Good story, good character development etc...
Since then I picked up the Gentlemen Bastard Series - PHENOMENAL, although plagues by a fourth book that's been in limbo for some time as the author battles mental health issues.
At the store recently I saw a THICK BOI with a NICE COVER in the Fantasy section. "The Way of Shadows" ? Nice cover... let's go.
Honestly it's been an absolute pleasure to read the trilogy. There are more books in a second series I haven't got to yet.
AMazing world construction, history, magic system, etc... Great writing. Really really enjoyable.
