What was your "most enjoyable" duty station/deployment, while you were in?

Didn't see any topic that covered this subject yet. And some recent conversations have got me reminiscing....๐Ÿ˜‰

My most enjoyable duty station hands down was Korea! Well except, for a misunderstanding, between me and what I considered a good friend at the time. He was a KATUSA and the language barrier made things worse. Fortunately, 1 of my other good friends, another KATUSA named Sgt. Lee. Sort of helped, smooth things over. I don't think things were ever right between me and Sgt. Suh? or Su?(I'm old and bad with spelling ) ever again. Which was definitely unfortunate...๐Ÿ˜ž Even with that, my times spent in Korea will always be one of things, I'm glad I experienced! I played a good bit of soccer, in my downtime. I even got to play a little paintball, while in country!๐Ÿ˜‰

    Korea.
Camp Humphreys/Anjong-ri. Never got to play Paintball when I was there though.

Honduras and Puerto Rico were also very nice. Nuthin' like getting deployed to the tropics.

Ever mistake a bottle of Soju, for a bottle of water, after a morning Company PT run?.... Only made that mistake once! ๐Ÿ˜–

      Nope.
That would be a one-time mistake though - although I do enjoy Soju from time to time.

4th Marine Division - HQ in New Orleans! What a drunken playground that place is. Bourbon Street in dress blues - good times

Don't have much a choice but CONUS, nuke submariner not a lot of options for us outside US. Favorite was teaching at SUBTRAFAC Charleston SC right before base closure.

Apparently I am the only one that did not like my duty station.
What can I say Camp Lejeune North Carolina it was the one place I marked as please donโ€™t send me to because most of my family was located on the west coast or mid west. While I was there around the early 2000 I volunteered for everything to get me out of there but every time I ask they respond with you are to important to let go

          Cannon AFB

no seriously, we all hated it there, but because we all hated it, we all looked out for each other, it was kinda like eagles fans..

granted, i don't have a lot of experience to speak on, as i was only in for 4 years, and between tech school, kuwait and the last 8 months i spent in japan, i missed Cannon.. people in misawa would set you up for a gold star and a pat on the head.. i had very little trust in my fellow mechanics...

Lol..I was housed somewhere in the BFW, in a tent, in a "Sand Kabal" the majority of my time in Kuwait. If we got to go to Ali Al Salem or "Disneyland"(Doha)...it was good times! PSA detail was probably, the best job, I had there. Got me an extra month, of tax-free hazardous duty pay, all while living in Doha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a lot of friends at Cannon... area sucks unless you're into specific outdoorsy stuff, but the unit comradery is real.

I loved Fort Carson, Colorado. I lived there for several years, bought a house, tried to set up roots. Just too many things to do on the weekends!

A close second for me would be the Presidio of Monterey (in central coast, California). I got to live there for a year on the governmentโ€™s dime with a bay view out my barracks room window. Incredible. Butโ€ฆthe language school was tough and it was a pretty difficult assignment in spite of the natural beauty. I got to go there this week for unrelated reasons and still really love that place.

Never did the linguist gig (have a good amount of co-workers who did), but I've visited several times and I absolutely love it.

Caribbean and Africa would be my top two. Beale in California was nice, except for the immediate area was trash. If you drove an hour each way, you could live in nice areas. Plus having the beach and mountains within 2 hours was awesome.
