welcome, suppose we could do some introductions
what did you do, when did you get out?
me? i was a crew-chief on F-16's, enlisted for 6 years December of 2000, second day of "work" (out of basic, out of tech schools, out of FTAC) was sept 11th 2001...
deployed to Kuwait in Dec 02.. OIF started march 20th, so i was there ..watched the buildup, helped my squadron drop 998,000 pounds of ordinance on iraq
ended up getting out early via "force shaping" in may of 04 (i liked the AF, i did not fit in with my co-workers)Last edited by Tracker; 07-24-2020, 08:25 PM.

Grendel = ex - ET1/SS Nuke 1984-1995 that was disable discharged for a shattered right ankle that happened while running independent PT (Paintball Tournament Gaffney SC in 1993 ) There are many times I wished I had fought the discharge but anyone who was in at the time they were closing bases/downsizing it was not fun to make rank. I had been up for ETC since 1991 but no billets to advance into finally made selection in early 1995 but they would not advance me due to wanting to discharge me. Nukes were not eligible for the early outs so any excuse to dump us they went for it.
I miss the Navy at times and passed up an opportunity to become an LDO in 1992 because I was an idiot and did not want to end up back in a shipyard as an O3. Should have done it I could have taken being a Nuke Officer in the Shipyard for 3-4 years.
