For those of you with Juniors and Seniors in high school- Check out Sophia Learning or similar companies.
Be careful to make sure that the institution that you or your child is looking at accepts their transfer credits but I know that a lot, including the one that I work at, accept at least most general ed courses.

Some planning and work on the part of the student would save 2-3 semesters of tuition and fees.

Also had my youngest and my niece use one of these companies to help get their gen ed credits out of the way.
Between that and dual enrollment the boy should be out in 3 years instead of 4.

EDX is amazing.

I did an MIT "Micromasters" at $175/ class and I was able to use 12 of the 24 hours towards an MBA later. Proctored exams, video lectures from tenured MIT profs, and weekly problem sets.

I also did an Agile certificate program, a lower- level Lean/Six Sigma thing on it, and a few others. You get far more than what you pay for.
