"It's at the highest prices it's ever been." Unfortunately that means "The US dollar is as worthless as it's ever been. Yay to less buying power and continued poverty!

That's actually really bad. Not a good sign for the economy. People are starting to park money in safer assets.

Actually, silver is getting used by industry far more than being hoarded. I am now working as a Supply Chain Analyst for a company that produces Data Center power supply/distribution equipment, and we are literally consuming tons of silver.

While you are somewhat correct people are parking their money in safer assets. Silver and Gold are used in chip manufacturing and the massive push towards AI right now is the driving force. Investors seen this coming a mile away.

I'm so glad I got obsessed with precious metals for a few years. Nothing like clinking big heavy coins in your hands, and knowing they appreciated makes you feel nice and savvy even though it's just a hobby.

Waiting for someone to make freak inserts made of .9999 silver. That would be an investment.

just going to leave this here...

But wait, there's more. That chart doesn't really show the full picture; e.g. re-investment of dividends. For that, you need the total return index.
Here, you cannot see the other lines because they are overlapping near zero... Check out the source for more details...

Besides, stocks often see short term changes that behave like fads. That's what I think this will be for silver. Some will make money in the short term. Most will lose. Lazy investors will barely notice while ensuring long term success.

Gold and Silver have always been long term investments. You buy the dip and sit on it. Now is not the time to buy be a good time to sell if you need capital for other investments like buying Space X stocks.

$64 - my small speculative handful (gold/silver ratio got crazy a while ago) is getting dumped shortly.

                    Little extra.
An ounce of silver now buys you a barrel of oil

An ounce of silver can buy a full tank of gas.
Waiting for when a mercury dime can purchase everything a person needs for a day, just like when a Roman soldier was paid a denarius a day to cover their needs and more.

I remember when it briefly got up to $60/oz in the early 80s. I had a job at a laundromat and I'd swap all the silver quarters for regulator quarters, and we would buy rolls and rolls of quarters from the bank to search for them.

Crazy to think that this was 45 years ago. Somewhere in my mothers basement is all those silver quarters. The market crashed for silver, so I stored them, and forgot about it. Though I vaguely remember trading a bunch of them for some mint susan b anthonies back then. lol. Another good investment.

I'm afraid to ask my mother if she still has them. Probably going to tell me that she dumped them in a donation bin

Man. When I was in college doing jewelry classes it was bad enough when it hit $40/oz
