    Some DJ Sets I've Recorded

I've been DJ'ing off and on since about 2000 (geriatric raver here), and have recently been trying to get myself back into the swing of things. Started off playing hardcore and have moved into techno over the last few years. That said- wanted to share my SoundCloud for anyone that is interested. It is all techno- leaning towards the acid & hard side of things. The Summer 2024 mix is probably my favorite of what is currently uploaded (link below). I just recorded a new one, and am going through it to see if I like it enough to release; if I do that will be next week.

    The semi-shameless self promotion:
Listen to Cardigans Can Kill | SoundCloud is an audio platform that lets you listen to what you love and share the sounds you create.

Tracklist: Run Baby Run- Paul Ritch I Feel Love- Ben Hemsley Breakout (Noncompliant Remix)- JAK Jazzmorphosis (Bumpin Sax Mix) - Lego The Benz- Posthuman Spastik (Dubfire Remix

The one (happy) hardcore mix I made that I actually like. Recorded winter 2003 (I think?)- all vinyl, and before I decided on a name change.
Mix of various older gabber & happy hardcore bits.Recorded Dec 2003ish

And I'm always up for new artists & labels if anyone has recommendations.

    cheers!

Thanks for sharing these! I've been to quite a few electronic events in Louisville at Galaxie, Whirling Tiger, Broadbent Arena, Expo Center, Zbar, Headliners, etc. over the years. Ever get out to play live?

      very cool stuff

if you ever need reassurance of your talent, just remember whats out there:

but i love driving (fast) to happy hardcore/gabber/hyperpop crap

      lately:

lots of nasenbluten, 99jakes, dylan brady, some of the old machinegirl stuff, the deathgrips stuff that fits that category

      and HARDBASS too

Nice! We've thrown a few events at Galaxie, Portal, Art Sanctuary, and have had a stage at The Big Stomp the last few years. And ZBar is one of my favorite venues. They bring in great shows and it is small enough that you can actually see what is happening on stage.

I've played out live, but it has been a long time. Trying to get myself back into that, but it is slow going, especially since I don't really use social media other than Soundcloud and some forums.

🤣 Thanks! I know there is a lot of garbage out there. Hopefully I'm not the one making it.

So whatever hardcore morphed into after about 2004... I just can't. That is part of why I got out of playing it 🙁 I think they call it 'hardstyle' now? The 'style' part is what kills me. Much like "EDM" they took the crappy bits from other genres and started using those. I want hard distorted 909 kicks, not hoovers. Nasenbluten however is still some of the best hardcore ever made.

Thanks for the listens & support! 🍻🍻
