Yeah when she fronted a metal band under her real name.

I actually have a demo cd somewhere...

She would frequent a metal/gogo dancer club i was a bouncer at during the early 2000's. One local band night she rolled in with a band sung some screaming metal songs in a skimpy black outfit and boots and got applauded and cheered till she left.

Around 6 months later she dropped her first single dyed blond as Lady Gaga.

I'm not an ass guy, but damn if I didn't enjoy her ass in the explicit video for Paparazzi. If she's a dude, then she does an amazing tuck job, and I guess I'm gay(er)!

I do tend to enjoy her more Pop stuff better than this current retro stuff. Which is odd since overall I prefer retro music over Pop in general. Pop just seems to fit her better in my mind. (in contrast I rather dislike Taylor Swifts pop stuff, and much prefer her folk and country stuff).

And she did good acting in A Star is Born, but that song from it, Shallow, always felt like half a song to me.
    Seriously...
    "In the sha-, shallow
    In the sha-ha-sha-la-la-la-llow
    In the sha-ha, sha-ha-llow
We're far from the shallow now
    Oh, ha-ah-ah
    Ah, ha-ah-ah, oh, ah
    Ha-ah-ah-ah"

She and her fellow writers couldn't come up with any actual verses for that?

    Now this...

...that's the stuff I want from our good Lady.

The first time I heard of her was on an NPR podcast where they were discussing her first album.

So no, I don’t remember when she was edgy because that never happened. I don’t have any problem with her whatsoever but she was never Poly Styrene or Wendy O Williams or Billy Nomates or Aldus Harding or whenever. She’s just mainstream music, like Fleetwood Mac or Coldplay or whatever.
