    Anyone Shoot Film?

I’ve shot a handful of cameras over the years but recently sold off almost everything digital except my Ricoh GR III.

I got a Chamonix 45F2 4x5 years ago but have only shot a few negatives with it. Just joined the forum for paintball but saw the photo section and wanted to say hi and see what everyone is shooting with!

Sweet! Yes, I shoot film... Lots of it. I have a flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/paintballphotos/ and also have this account there: https://www.flickr.com/photos/onlyfilm/

    Which is strictly film.

I also have a couple of 4x5, but I've been shooting glass plate with it mostly. I have some ilford 4x5 negative stock, but failed the last time I shot it for reasons unknown... So will have to try again.

I'm new to shooting SLR's and have basically just started. I have a Minolta SRT 201 with a couple rokkor lenses. This was a hobby I was actively avoiding because I knew I wouldnt be able to escape.

For more modern digital, I've got a Canon R5, though I do miss the film developing and darkroom days! I've never shot any large format... I've got a Nikon FM2 and a Canon AE1 Program for film. One of the things I loved to do was infrared, so I'm slowly building up the digital side of things to do that. I love the R5, though the modern R series glass have pretty bad IR hot spotting issues. It's certainly another money pit lol!

Started shooting film more and more this year. Picked up a Minolta Alpha-7 this summer, the last professional SLR they made before they went under. Kind of a spiritual precursor to my sony digital cameras.

I've got an "og" 80-200mm f/2.8 with autofocus I use for paintball with it. Otherwise a good selection for nature, travel, and street photography. Recently took it to Acadia National Park in Maine with the wife. https://zingerpb.smugmug.com/Non-Pai...-Maine-on-Film

Sony bought Minolta, the Sony alpha mount is actually a Minolta autofocus mount. I have an old Minolta prime lens I use on my Sony every once in a while. I've never known for sure if you can use a Sony alpha lens on a Minolta but I suspect you can. You might want to give it a try at some point as it would really give you a lot of lens options if it does work.

I'd bet that answer is out there on the web somewhere actually

Oh, you absolutely can. The sony a-mount is nearly 100% backwards compatible with Minolta cameras of the same mount. Actually just picked up a Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 for it. Works amazingly.

And yeah, the purchase by Sony is also why I leaned towards Minolta when going after a film camera. And, the a-mount lenses can be used on my Sony e-mounts with an adapter. Full feature compatibility as well.

I like playing with my old 35mm toys - Canon Rebel 2000, Minolta Maxxum 7000 and a couple others.
I've used a few older Minolta lens with my Canon T7i via a Fotodiox adapter. I've been told the T7i is a child's camera btw, no need to shame me ha ha. I like it though. That huge 500mm Sigma beast is fun with my Canon digi. Good for an aspiring paparazzi on a budget

Nikon guy, myself. F2AS and FM2n. I really like the AIs glass with them. Film seems to be making another resurgence. Film Photography Project has a lot of good normal and experimental film stocks. Younger brother shoots a lot of rangefinder stuff. Zorkie and Leica.
