not sure how long take to down load about 225 cd to itunes on laptop.

So found my cds so far in my cd case i have 225 cd some are dvd and one Iron Maiden game and music i have few more cd floating around so should have 230 cd to down load on to computer

i had to get external cd drive for laptop did not come with one. so not going to use too. only one cd/dvd at time

At that quantity, either just rip the ones you really like or box them up and ship them to a ripping service. They'll charge $1-2/disc.

i got free time will download them and have fun. since can watch warhammer 40k videos and play smart phone game. also found 140 more cds so add that to list i have about 360 cds to re download so going to take time to do them all

I feel you man. I have 400 CD's I need to do the same thing with, plus about 45 gigs worth that I've already had digital but need to transfer over.

Quick question since I haven't even started doing mine yet since I just moved and still unpacking. Are you just using iTunes to scan the disks to store them or are you using a different program?
Back in the day before everything was itune this and that. I just used Microsoft media manager but we're talking probably 2 decades ago.

I got into ripping early (~2000) just to avoid the stockpile.

Now I realize the time spent keeping up with ever changing copyright security measures over the years means it would have been more efficient to stockpile. Oh well...

not sure since each time i started i took breaks or walked away for food or other things need to be done. so fart i spent about 2 hrs and 1/2 to get done with 3 to 4 pages of music each page has 8 cd on it. other reason for other download was cd's where scratched up and could not read them and wait to see if could or re try. also to them out to soon and have find away to why trying to save new cd under other cd name

~6min/CD. You're looking at another 1992 minutes; ~33hrs. Godspeed. Adding a couple of optical drives will really help to speed up the process.

some faster then other some slower then other since some not scratched up faster download. if scratched up takes longer. some cd not as long as other cds. since i have some bands where there are double cd and with both cd get about 1hr 1/2 of music where others around 1 hr or so. right now going threw all my metal for mass cds which made up different bands from different labels so you get to try them out before you buy. since most of cd have about 5 or so do not like and glad to get try them out first.
