resizing pictures for posting.

So I was going to post a picture from my phone to one of me other posts and it was too big. Is there an app to use on my phone that will save as a jpg or other smaller sized file? I am running an android.

Hey I just noticed that there is a way to resize images using this new forum technology.

It's a bit buggy, but on the PC, I can grab the corner and the cursor will change to the scale icon, and I can scale it down. It is pixel perfect tho to get the cursor to show, you have to put your mouse around the bottom right corner of the image.

Otherwise check IMGUR for image hosting, you can alter resolution in there to get smaller size and smaller file-size. They might have an app.

I was really hoping to avoid making an account on an image hosting website, drats.

If my pic is older than like few weeks i cant use the site to post it. Normally i just resize to large and its now under 2mb so im good. But if its a old pic that option is not available to click on. (i only have a iphone xr) ive yet to try copying it as a new pic and see if that works.

Yes if you duplicate a old pic into a brand new one it works now. Was the oldest pic on my phone. Skittles the cat (i turned up the exposure thinking it would auto duplicate)

i have issue of this board want to dumb down my photo and have lightroom set for facebook and Instagram so will not change setting unless away to two preset. and where lower it you lose most of photo too. since only use high quality of my photo

i still use imgur for hosting, everything i have attempted so far has told be that it must be under 2mb

Try taking a screenshot of the photo on your phone. Then post the screenshot. It should be a lower resolution.

Thats another issue. All my screen shots give me a error message saying its resolution is to big. And it wont let me resize them.

If you are using an iPhone after you select the picture you want click on choose image size on the bottom and select medium.
