What game(s) are you playing right now?

My Gamecube and Saturn were unearthed from storage. Man, games for these systems are bonkers expensive. Even when they are disc only or literally not working X_X

Hobbes The Wii is the best way to play Gamecube games in widescreen on the cheap. 3rd party Wii component cables are like 15 bucks last time I checked. Metroid Prime looks goooooood. Beats shelling out for GC component cables.

I hooked up my 'cube the other day with RE4 and boy was the output ever rough with composite cables.

Yeah, the GC games that support progressive scan do look really good on the Wii through component. I think the Wii is the best way to play RE4. Definitely one of the few games that benefited from motion controls.

collectors market has exploded since covid, pokemon cards are through the roof.. multi month backlog just for grading services

the Saturn and the GC were neither of those 2 manufacturers highpoints as far as sales.. smaller pool, higher prices.

another thing to consider is quantity of titles released. did you know they only made 296 different N64 games?

saturn is 1048
gamecube is 653

I do suspect the price of video games will decline eventually, but for the moment, they are starting to become fringe investment platforms... BNIB classic cartridge's seem to be the current "money launder's choice" with each new sale somehow getting bigger and bigger

Hmm. Maybe I should get my Pokecards appraised, lol. Have a fair number of first editions from the first 3 sets.

Thinking of snagging a copy of Phantasy Star Online for the GC. Those actually went DOWN in price. Might be an outlier though, as most other big GC games have gone up.

I have been meaning to do the same, I have a couple that should be able to pay for getting the bulk of the graded (I have a large amount of 1st edition base and fossil cards)

I dug out Alien Trilogy for the original Playstation. Tossed it in my PS3, been enjoying it quite a bit.

Picked up Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, and Evil Genius 2.

Pre ordered Lego SW, and Wonderlands.

Crazy how fast HFW loads. You can literally fast travel across the map and have a sub 1 second load time. I haven't played the others yet, but ill get to them. I loved HZD, and this is a really good follow up. I love all the new machines. I'm having a blast meeting the new and old characters.

Been playing through the Convergence mod for Dark Souls 3 while waiting for Elden Ring later this month, and it's been a lot of fun. All the weapons, spells, and bosses that the mod adds are pretty awesome, and it's been really cool having a more fresh feeling playthrough again.

Also been scratching the fps itch with Apex and the Northstar servers for Titanfall 2.

BF 2042 is trash
Dying Light 2 needs to ferment some more. Good bones but DL1 is a better Zombie game.
Horizon Forbidden West is amazing. Playing on PS4 Pro. Great on PS4/Pro/PS5 get it for whatever you got!

Elden Ring is absolutely amazing so far. Also loving Horizon, but I've put it down for a while because of Elden Ring. Too many great games releasing all at once.

Couldnt get into DL1 for some reason. I liked the introduction to the game but once you get out there the zombies bored me and I didnt feel compelled to level up, the world was too unappealing

Came home with a copy of Elden Ring today. Between that, Pokemon Legends Arceus & Metroid Dread I have more than enough games to last me all year, lol.

Over the past couple of weekends I've been setting up all of my old consoles in my basement. I've been customizing an ikea cabinet for storage and cable management. I'm mostly done with it, so today i introduced my 10 year old son to beatles rock band on ps3, as well a rock band 1 and 2 and guitar hero 3. We played for a couple of hours, he is pretty bad and I'm quite rusty but it was a blast.

Was playing Battlefield 2042, but kind of lost interest. It's been a huge disappointment compared to past entries in the series. Moved on to Dying Light 2 and also Cyberpunk 2077.
