Got the platinum for God of War, going back to work on spider man: miles morales. Just started Salt & Sanctuary on the Vita, I've only heard good things and so far am enjoying it.

I started playing Final Fantasy 13 again. I've tried it twice but have burned out each time. Digital Foundry recently posted a couple retrospective videos about it and it's sequels & now I have the itch to give it another go. It's been years since I played it, so hopefully I can play it to completion with a relatively fresh mindset.

I'm still playing Elden Ring though. Been playing a lot of co-op lately.

I admit I’m a bit of a FF Luddite, but I have not been able to get into any of the games past like FF9

Jonnydread I'm not a fan of ATB. Chrono Trigger has been my only real exception. I have a black label copy of FF7 and I have barely played it. I've heard FF6 is the best in the series, but I've barely played that one too. This one is a little more manageable with your other party members acting on their own in accordance with what you do, so it's less to manage. But there's still an ATB gauge. This playthrough has been going pretty well so far though. I remember liking the story when I played it last, and that's holding true so far.

glaman5266 totally worth playing FF6 if you can stomach the ATB. Great story, great music, memorable characters and interesting battle mechanics.

I'm back on that TrackMania 2020 wagon. It's just a really fun racing game. Enough "pick up and play" arcade feel, but with some real sim-like aspects as well. I'm not good, like, at all, but it's still fun to play through random maps, and the community maps are fantastic.

I got the Compact so it will do 25 different key binds. + you can bind double clicks and holds differently. It’s plenty because you still got the gaming mouse in your right hand. I don’t even use them all. You can program sensitivity, angle and Deadzone parameters so your hand just rests on it super natural like. It’s alot easier to learn than you would think but it did take me a week or so to get back my movement to the point I was with a controller. My aim speed instantly increased so I relied more on my Aim till I got my movement back up to snuff. I’m super happy with it it’s fun to play with. The program features are great and are not super difficult to navigate. You can drag and drop button bindings after you input them to get bindings ware you think you want them. There are also suggestions on the forums that get you started for most popular games.

i haven’t played it a ton but what i did play i liked a lot. Seems like about the only thing I’ve played on my Vita in quite a while is Xenocrisis. Definitely one of those games that, when you die, makes you want to immediately give it another go. Started playing Terminator Resistance on PS4. Pretty slow so far but I’m only a couple of hours into it.

Started playing Super Animal Royale recently and thoroughly enjoying it. It’s like SNES Zelda meets battle Royale with cartoon animals….and machine guns. Seems goofy, but it’s really fun and turnaround between matches is literally no more than 2 minutes from dying to being boots on the ground in the next match.

Playing Marvel Snap recently. Just started as it was on a bunch of best games of the year. Pretty fun, fast and the game mechanic throws curve balls to mess with your strategy, so keeps it interesting

Man, they messed up making marvel snap a card game.

My brain associated to pokemon snap. And I pictured a free roam game that puts you in the marvel universe, as the role of an up and coming reporter. You need to position yourself strategically to achieve perfect shots of heros and or villans to achieve points. They missed an opportunity I say!

Finally got around to playing Cuphead. I’ve been waiting on it to come out physically so when i saw it at Walmart i snagged it. I want to like the game but it is so friggin hard. I love the art style & music but i can’t see myself ever getting very far. I’ve only beaten a handful of levels so far & i had to play most of them MULTIPLE times. A guy came into a local Game Exchange & traded in a very nice collection included quite a few rare & expensive games. While i couldn’t afford Snatcher or most of what he traded in really, i did grab 3 decent Genesis games. Captain America & The Avengers, X-Men 2 & The Great Circus Mystery.

I purchased Dinkum months ago for like 5 bucks on a steam sale. I just finally started it up Monday night after getting home from a service call.

Its quite addicting I'm only a few days in ( sleeps in the game) but I find myself wanting to fire it up and play right now before work.

Its basically animal crossing,. I highly recommend it.

I’m about to start playing Goldeneye again myself. Picked up a Retro-Bit controller for the N64 the other day. I haven’t played it in probably 20+ years. I’m curious how it’s going to feel with a modern controller.

As a matter of fact, yes!!

Funnily/annoyingly enough, a few weeks ago my wife wanted to start playing it after watching a speedun on GDQ. So we downloaded an emulator, and after 15 minutes she handed me the controller and had me play while she watched. I was about 2/3, maybe 3/4 thru the game. Aaaaaand now I'm starting over haha.

I played for maybe an hour or 2 last night, got thru the first boss. So far I am loving it. The graphics on the original game hold up really well, especially for a game from 2002. But the remastered looks incredible. That said, the best part of the remaster is the new controls. The original controls made sense for the controller it was on, but it was clunky. The new controls are way more fluid, it makes platforming and aiming much much much better.

TL;DR, only an hour or two in but so far the remaster is awesome.

I'm waiting for the physical version (22nd). I very rarely buy anything digital.

Agreed- the original holds up very well for it's age. And this one looks incredible.

I am very interested in the new controls. I don't mind the old lock-on aiming & I've played enough 3-D Zelda to be used to that sort of manual aiming, but some of the platforming in the original is indeed pretty harsh. Glad to hear it's easier to manage. Anything to make that final sequence before Metroid Prime easier, lol.

How is the performance? The resolution isn't a concern for me, but does it seem to keep a steady frame rate?

glaman5266 I typically don't notice frame rate changes unless they really tank, but so far it's been perfectly smooth. Seems very consistent.

I never had a problem with the old controls either, and even with the new ones you still lock on most of the time. But being able to look around independently of movement is still a massive improvement. It definitely makes platforming much easier, as well as dealing with some enemies that you can't lock on to.

On my Linux laptop, ScummVM runs perfectly bone stock default. Same with on my Android phone. No idea what it would take on Windows, but it's a very convenient little app.
