Why am I not surprised. I was a fan of the franchise since 1942, but it’s been in a steady decline since Bad Company 2. Admittedly, BF4 wasn’t so bad and I logged hundreds of hours playing it. But I lost interest in BF1 and BFV pretty quickly and found myself playing Ranbow Six Siege instead. But yeah looks like it’s officially gone down the shitter. I don’t own 2042, is it really that bad? Asking for a friend 🤪

I liked bf1, but early on in the game. Eventually it got glitchy and aid even say hacky.

But it was the only bf game I could snag a tank and run a game clock out wrecking stuff.

As far as 2024. I havent played it. My cousin has a free download code I can have, but I haven't tried it.

i have it and got as gift not that great. need more stuff in gear. also should be no reason why you can only have party of 4 people. so can only play as 4 man team. people are mad fact have huge number of people play at time. but only letting 4 play as group turn people off.

But 4 man squads was always a thing. Even in bf 1 my buddies and I would run 2 squads deep, and just party chat with all of us. All you lose is the ability to spawn on em.

Im sure there's more to the refund demands, but the 4 man squads shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Except that there is no server browser for anything except portal. So if you have 12 guys you likely won't all even end up in the same server with the match making system. You pretty much have to play portal to play with anything larger than 4. The game is bad. The specialists don't feel like battle field, the maps are really poorly designed and way too open and large even with the bigger player count, hit reg issues, low player count. The game is just bad.

I feel like the same thing happened with the GTA Definitive Edition. The ports of the games were laughable and refunds were offered on PC as I recall.

I’m still sour about game refunds. In my day if you got a crappy game you traded to your friends. You didn’t get your money back. 😆

Bf1 was the last good battlefield, honestly I was super skeptical that they could deliver on their expectations, and truly I think they played the market for suckers. Games trying to be the same scale of BF42 take years more of work to be good. The downgrades are truly spectacular.

Even BF1 was shaky at first but I agree it was the last really good one. The early access was great on BF1 and it was downhill from there with weapon nerfs and them patching it into irrelevancy.

BF5 was such a disappointment I swore off ever pre-ordering a Battlefield game ever again. Glad I dodged that bullet on 2042.

I am a very novice gamer, only play Battlefield and only started with Battlefield 1, so don't have a lot of reference points newer than a PS2. I was given this new one as a gift for xmas and it stinks. I've only played a few hours. It's just very unrefined, graphics stink, awkward to play. Maps too large for number of players and don't have enough cover 2 mins into the game when the buildings are all blown up. I liked the complete cluster maps in BF1 where you had 40 people in the same tiny portion of the map fighting.

Im disappointed in it. I’m a big BF fan but this one fell short I have already moved on to other games it definitely dose not live up to the hype that sold it to me. I like the portal options and the ability to manipulate the game but hit detection is terrible and it plays pretty bad and it looks meh at even at max settings running a 3080. It’s worse then all the previous games by far with the exception of hardline that still holds the crown of worst BF game ever. I did sign the petition but don’t expect anything other then bad press to come of it.

Hate to say it but I really enjoyed Hardline. If they had stuck with it and done as many updates/patches as the main games it really would have been something.

Hardline was fine from a game technical level. The gameplay needed massive changes though... the map with the escort mission was just the whole enemy team firing rockets at it. It just wasn't fun for many of the designs. Maybe it was better on console than on PC, but PC it was very repetitive.

The multiplayer was garbage. You got a spawn or got destroyed for a match. It was so stupid. I liked how they went more vertically with the maps. The zip lines were cool. But it played like garbage. BF1 I think was the best game they made. After this I’m done with the BF franchise. If they offer full refunds for it I might give them another chance. If they offer it for free without refunds I will never purchase another game by that company again out of principal.
