need help build pc with 2 thunderbolt ports and 4 usb ports photo video editing

i use thunderbolt port for my blackjack card reader so need one for that. and fact other card reader i have c port too. so want both at start since have 500gb backup hard for traveling and will have black jack or other card reader too. so when i get back from traveling faster move files from card reader to 500gb hard drive where i store files before l move to computer to edit them. since after day of softball i have about 80gb of photo soccer is less since one game, volleyball with new lens will be around 40gb of photo's

Exactly so the Thunderbolt ports on the motherboard are more than adequate for your card reader. You can always add an external desktop dock/bay later on if you wanna

ok cool, in that case you’re looking good. I think that if you can forgo the new SSD purchases for now, and leave it for later then you should be able to get this beastly rig for around $2500, taxes included. And then add SSD’s and whatever else later

How fun, I dug around and the Asus B550 ProArt turns out is the best option to include the Thunderbolt port IO. This really is the best setup without going Threadripper.

How much does microcenter charge to build it? It really isnt hard to put together, BTW. We can walk you through it.

Also not sure how that would work cause Microcenter has higher pricing on some of the items or may not have the same items available 🤔

Apparently, Microcenter doesn’t even have the Ryzen 5950X online, its in-store-only but I found it on ebay for $515 shipped, new so thats 35 you can save right there from the 549 Amazon price

They have the motherboard for $299 and offer a $20 discount if you pair it with a compatible CPU, only problem being that a lot of their CPUs are sold in-store only. They are demented this way.

micro center not building it. my high school buddy and friday night gamming buddy are going to build to as group. since give day to spend time together. i would have parts order from them so they can pick up from place instead of shipping it to them. if order from place they pick up no shipping parts when only shipping to me. and if something goes wrong they next to place to get part fixed

Sounds good. I remember building PC’s for friends back in high school. Fun times. We played a ton of Counter-Strike back when you could install infinite copies with one key and LAN party all night.

Did you decide on a case for your build? Also, I think you’re better off ordering from Amazon on most
things if not all. The chances of anything being defective are very slim. We sourced very reputable components. And worst case scenario, if something is defective, you can RMA via the manufacture. Actually, that’s what Microcenter would have you do unless you buy their extended warranty. And if you can’t figure out what’s wrong and need a tech to figure it out, you’d have to pay for that either through membership or separately. But again, those components are among the best and the chances of anything breaking or being defective are very slim. I havent RMA’d anything — not a single thing — in 10+ years and 5+ builds

no i have not need one that can hold up to 4 hard drives by iron wolf and will start off with one in it. later add other. but money tight so when i get job by the parts little at time.

There are a lot of good cases out these days. If you want a case that can hold a lot of large drives this one is awesome.

It looks good and can hold up to 8 3.5 or 2.5 inch drives, but can be also be moved around. The only negative is it doesn't have front USB c or Front thunderbolt ports.

This case will also support the length of a 3080/3080ti with all the harddrive cages.

You have a ton of storage options with this case which I think is important when working with media.

Most cases worth buying seem to be ~$100, this one is a little more at about $144. But once you buy a good case you don't really need to buy another one.

Might as well wait for the Geforce 4000 series. GPU prices have dropped more as a result of the crypto crash. And it looks like availability / supply will be much better this time around.
