Might as well wait for the Geforce 4000 series. GPU prices have dropped more as a result of the crypto crash. And it looks like availability / supply will be much better this time around.

The stars are aligning for the 4000 series launch. 😎
will have to wait in till get job. but have list items to get now

Actually I'm going to retract that statement The used GPU market is flooding right now. You can get a 3080 12GB for just about $950 if you want top end new. It might drop a little more but if you can swing that price I'd buy right now.

Or if you are feeling wild, try and snag a 3080ti off ebay for $700-$800.

The 3000 series is old now in tech world, and the 4000 series is getting closer to launch so I feel like we are about to hit the bubble where everyone gets ready for the next gen. I don't expect to see any kind of price lowering for MSRP with the new cards however. That high entry cost for initial launch probably won't let the price of current stuff to drop much more than what we are seeing now.

We should probably expect $1000 - $ 1200 prices now for top end GPU launches.

When it comes to editing video your video card isn’t important at all. You need a powerful CPU, as much RAM as possible, fast discs, and fast transfers. Don’t waste money on the latest and greatest anything, instead buy twice as much of the old stuff.

You only need enough video RAM to display the application itself, and 3D acceleration is totally useless.

Anything other than air cooling is a gimmicky joke unless you’re a gamer. You want a pro level work machine, not some tacky neon garbage with a window on the side.

That's not completely true... if you use CUDA and take advantage of it a Nvidia GPU can speed up work significantly depending on the renderer and if you are doing 3D modeling.

A CPU is better in every other case.

IGN Daily Deals: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GPU for $779 on Amazon:

                https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...mv327nnMq5Iqfv

If you dont see the $779 price you might have to click through the IGN Daily Deals link

Actually tempted to get this myself. I’m just not gaming all that much right now other than R6 Siege and TW Warhammer II which aren’t all that demanding

That's a great price for a 3080, good cooler on that one too.

I think the MSI Ventus is the low end version, then the Gaming is a bit better card with a better cooler.
