I haven’t bought a digital game on my PS3 in forever but i recently realized there are still a good many PS1 games on the PS3 store that aren’t on the Vita storefront. So last night i linked my PS4/Vita account to my PS3, added funds to my wallet through the PS4 & loaded up my cart. Even though i had funds in my wallet it still wanted to verify the card i used & it kept saying unable to verify even though all the information was correct & it was the same card i used to add funds in the first place. It was driving me crazy. It didn’t dawn on me that, since even though Sony left the PS3/Vita stores open but disabled the direct use of cards, there was no way for them to verify the card info. Turns out that even though you have funds in your wallet you have to delete any cards you have linked to the PS store before you can buy something using a PS3. 🤦♀️ Makes sense i guess but not exactly intuitive. Anyway, maybe this little nugget of info will save somebody a bit of frustration.

I don’t keep a card on file with M$ and with the number of Sony data breeches over the years (and breeches in general) I wouldn’t keep one on file with them either. My bro just buys gift card codes off Amazon & applies them right away. Seems to work alright.
But I’m 99% hard copy, so take that for what it’s worth.
