Couch Co Op game advice PS4

I am not a gamer so need some help. My son recently moved from California to Knoxville and is living with his big Sis and both work night shift hours. Her house is brand new and they will be without internet for a few months. I was looking for some local CO Op game suggestions for them since he isn't getting out much yet. Doing some research I see good reviews for Helldivers but sounds difficult and while his big Sis will be game to play I don't think she will handle difficult..... Alienation looks promising maybe? Saw some good reviews for "Neon Chrome" but only finding it in digital downloads. Hoping to find some stuff that is new with hard copies as little extra Christmas presents...... Anyway any suggestions of good old mindless fun would be appreciated

So I picked up 3 games of different styles.... went with It Takes 2, The Ascent and The Mana Collectiom. Figured those would cover different play styles. Really appreciate all the help here

Little Big Planet games have good coops. Cute platforming, fun gameplay. Crash Tag Team Racing - cart racer.

Journey to the Savage Planet might be a good co op option. Exploring an alien world with a wide-cracking AI helping you out.

Overcooked, Rocket League, and the Lego games are good for co-op too.

my brother and I had a blast bonding over Resident Evil 5. Not sure you can still get a copy of that, but it was deff fun to have to ration weapon upgrades and such.

Is Left 4 dead on consoles? That can be fun too even though it's old.

Payday the heist maybe? I don't remember if that's couch co-op.

Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead & it's on PS4 for sure. Depending on the kinds of games they play, a Switch might not be a bad investment. Lots of really good co-op platformers. Yoshi, Kirby, Donkey Kong, etc.

Junglepeanut if they have a Switch there are tons of great co-op options. It Takes Two is a great one, it's one of the few games I can convince my wife to play with me.

Junglepeanut If they have a Switch you would be best off looking at that. Couch co-op is a big deal to Nintendo. TONS of good local multiplayer games on the Switch.

Crash team racing, gauntlet, goat simulator, broforce, war of the monsters, most of the borderlands games, diablo probably, Minecraft dungeons, most sports games, Star wars battlefront 2, a way out. It takes 2, streets of rage. Tony hawk 1+2, plants vs zombies BFN, worms wmd, terraria. Stardew valley. Rocket League. Moving out. Keep talking and nobody explodes, don't starve together, guacamole 1/2,

Not coop but really fun to put your heads together game "return of the obra dinn".

Recently moved my gaming rig to the TV as I haven't been interested in shooters lately and wanted to do some co-op gaming much like you.

Among the recent acquisitions for couch games was Untitled Goose Game:

Super simple, be annoying geese and complete the task list. The wife and I have been CRYING laughing playing this lately.

It's available on all platforms by the looks of it.
