Anyone else play Elite Dangerous on PC by chance? Mostly do PvE hazres hunting and xeno fighting these days but down for some casual PvP action as well once in awhile. Feel free to DM/friend request me on discord, username is chillswitchengage on there as well.

Love that game, I have an A rank conda with some enginering done. But I don't play ED super regularly. Unfortunately I'm on night shift rn so i don't get off work till 12 so we prob wont be able to squad up. Hoping to get off nights pretty soon though.

I mostly do pve as well I do hazres hunting and low temp diamond piracy. I never got into xeno fighting as I hate having to rebuy, would be willing to give it a shot with someone to show me how tho.

I messed around with it for a little bit with an Oculus DK2 a few years back. It's an awesome experience. I've been meaning to get back in there and try my 3D mouse for piloting.

I am unfortunately still between jobs rn so my schedule is pretty open, not a big deal to take some caffeine for late night pews. It's one of the very few games I can play for longer than ~30-45min without getting bored or my attention otherwise shifting haha. I hear you on the rebuys. On the flip side though, thargoid hunting can be pretty profitable since even basic cyclop kills net you 8mil per. The go to build is usually a Krait MK2 w/ a biweave shield and guardian weapons but I've heard of peeps in a DBX fighting the good fight so I'm sure a correctly outfitted Anaconda or otherwise would do just fine. Xeno hunting isn't terribly hard itself IMO, grinding for engineering and the guardian stuff is the biggest pain in the ass IMO. But in any case I'd be happy to wing up and help you give it a whirl, worst case we can always just hazres hunt together.

It's a whole 'nother experience in VR for sure, one of the few AAA titles that seem to keep the design for it in mind apart from on-foot being limited to 2d. Going to be honest, I have a quest 2 but most of the time I just default to using my normal screen for comfort. Taking it on/off regularly for typing messages, looking in the galaxy map or otherwise can be annoying.

do you still have to go to the guardian temples and farm for mats for a while to get anti xeno weapons? asking so I dont waste time flying to the planets as irc they are out of the way of most players.

As far as I'm aware, that is still the way. The video I looked up references the system "Synuefe EU-Q C21-10" which is about ~760ly from the bubble. I have a friend who actually helped me along with all of it when I was first starting out and owns a FC so I can see about asking him and planning a trip of sorts to help yah get those things if you are interested. Otherwise, the fleet carrier owners club discord has peeps in it that post schedules for going out to colonia, other mat farming sites, etc so probably would be able to find a spot with them as well.
