Local Multiplayer on PC - Multiple controllers Q

Hey, quick question, to hook up multiple Xbox wireless controllers to the same laptop, I would need the second controller to have a Microsoft Xbox Bluetooth dongle, correct? Currently, I have one Xbox wireless controller, I'm just trying to figure out what I need before pulling the trigger on the second. I would prefer if both controllers were the same.

    Kind regards

Yes you will need a 2nd Bluetooth Or it could be hardwired and charge at the same time. I hardwire my elite controller since I play at a Computer Desk.

There are adapters if you need more ports as well.

Thanks man. And what about a desktop without Bluetooth? You would need two xbox Bluetooth dongles? (If you want wireless. ) I’m 99% sure the answer is yes.

Correct you will need two separate. One for each addition controller to go wireless.

Shouldn’t need a dongle for an Xbox sure it’s not just linking directly?

Which type of Xbox controller are you trying to use?

        360 up to 4 controllers https://www.amazon.com/Mcbazel-Wirel.../dp/B076GZFLR3

XB1 and later up to 8 controllers https://www.amazon.com/Smlau-XB2-Wir.../dp/B0BKW4J3RN

Oh nice. Theyre the latter one you linked: the new type. I think the Microsoft one is also supposed to do multiple controllers but Windows being the POS that it is, it doesn't work right because the Bluetooth conflicts. I would still try it before i get a second dongle though, just to see.

I guess it works for some and other people report problems? Thats my conclusion from looking on it a little.

Just dropping in to say if you want a great controller for the price and included dongle, and a charging station, I use 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller almost exclusively, the feel of Hall Effect joysticks is so much nicer and snapper, I got the 2.4 G edition and love it, I'll prolly pick up another one I been eyeing their catelog of other controllers

From my understanding, hall effect joysticks use magnets to determine their position, and the sensors are supposed to not have moving parts like how standard joysticks have, thus making it harder to cause stick drift in the controller, it also like I stated above give an oddly snappier feel to the joystick and I feel is more sensitive to inputs, but with 8bitdo products you can adjust that in their remapping app if you so please

I recently switched back to the Xbox controller because I been playing a bunch of no build fort night with my kids. I don’t need all the extra buttons in Fortnight like I did with APEX. I’m curious about that Amazon controller it’s only $40 to. The kids are so ruff on the controllers it’s not long before they get stick drift.

I personally mine, it was a bit weird to get used to cause the input seemed a bit too fast for me originally, I had to drop my aiming sensitivity cause it, but I would gradually bump it up one or two every now and then when I got used to it and now I can't with regular controllers lol

this looks like a really good option. So it’s wireless instead of Bluetooth? So Windows shouldn’t have a conflict with multiple devices connected. And it’s the same as getting another MS X Series controller for around $45, and two dongles. Plus I am getting better controllers and charging docks? This is the way.

It's actually both wireless and wired, I'm not entirely sure how many controllers you can connect to it via the dongle, I use it exclusively on my pc and I've used it a handful of times on my steamdeck while docked
