LiPo charging is really finicky and really should only be done with a dedicated hobby charger that can balance charge them. I could hook you up with a really nice one for around $40 out of my personal stash. While charging LiPo's they ideally should be charged in a fire resistant nag designed for those batteries ($5-10 at any local hobby shop or Amazon). Look up LiPo charging on YouTube.

I wouldn't use one of the USB chargers for anything other than tiny 1s batteries, you will want a proper balance charger where you plug in the normal leads and the balance cable. A fireproof bag is also a good idea if you don't have one already.

Thanks for the heads up to both of you, this has been unplugged for the night. I guess it’s not a huge surprise that the Amazon special didn’t come with the specialty charger.

My boys played with their Traxxas Stampede 4x4 BL-2s's at the paintball field today while I got a few hours of paintball in. I don't know much about RC's, but it's what the local hobby shop recommended. We're happy with them so far. Just had to learn their limits. My older son has put about $60 worth of replacement parts in his. He jumped it too high too often (breaking various suspension components), liked to do wheelies (wearing out the differential gears), and found a big, mostly buried rock with the steering bellcrank. It's good experience for him taking it apart, finding the required replacement parts, and putting it back together. He managed to break a camber link today. He's toned it way down since having to put his own money into fixing it multiple times, so I think the camber link today finally just gave up the ghost after all the previous abuse.
